a game scenario could be built around limited ammo (magfed, pump or tac-caps) with each team having a number of heavy gunners who would be running normal playing gear. its about giving the players what they want i guess.
yea that could work!+! good idea.. although the map would have to have buildings, and woods ect to make it awsome :p

I can't agree more mate.. Are you a Magfed player?
Up to very recently I would say no.
I have too many markers, and have spent the last couple of years mostly with pump or pistol
(Though my preferred pistol of the moment is the Tpx with air adaptor and that is magfed I wouldn't classify my play as magfed)

Within a matter of weeks I bought a dye dam and a hammer 7
The dam because I decided I was not going to get one when most of the team bought theirs, then prior to Christmas they took all those out and when hands on I wanted it. I set our man to keep an eye out for a dyecam one, until he spoke with the shop and got dyes stock status and there was only one dyecam dam available. So it came to me

The hammer I bought because a teammate got one at copehill for a bargain price, so I bought the last one in stock

I've played with the dam once at copehill down this year, but in hopper mode, I loaned it to a team mate to shoot me in magfed mode for a promo for the game we ran this weekend, and it will get some proper magfed action at the Drakelow game in a few months

I'm not sure I get this whole "realistic" thing. For a start real magazines hold a good 30 rounds (more than it seems some paintball mags hold) and can be fired in a matter of seconds. In addition there are a whole host of light support weapons, belt fed machine guns etc. Plenty of "spraying and praying" I'm not sure if we go down this route anyone is going to ever be fully satisfied.

How about I stay at home and just launch drone strikes!?!

That's Milsim as opposed to magfed
(Less difference though)

But if you look at any forum with a reference to magfed then someone starts talking about box mags

Ps the purpose of support weapons isn't 'pray and spray' (unless you're American) it's sustained fire (not stopping to reload every few seconds) and suppression
In speedball the point of firing ropes of paint is also suppression - deny movement between inflatables, or keep them back from popping their head and shooting at your advancing teammates
In warfare it's the same

'Accuracy by volume' / 'spray and pray' follows just because its become possible. It's been a staple diet of the us army since Vietnam
The British army desperately try to avoid it, and this has been deliberately marked by our standard issue weapons and training. Thr Lee Enfield & SLR being obvious ones, Forming a square & ranks being the ultimate example of training discipline
More ammunition fired means more to be carried, and resuplied

Don't get me wrong, that post was a little tongue in cheek. I really get the sentiment of playing more tactically and it's something I would like to get involved with. Thing is, with a proper assault riffle you're going to be accurate to what, 800meters? I've been on a few ranges and I don't think I've ever missed a target completely. So in that situation it's fine. However paint balls are crap.

I would play mag fed but only with something like first strike where it's fewer rounds but you have decent accuracy. I hear that stuff is pretty decent. Bus as for normal paintball I think i'd rather stick with a hopper.

Hahaa launch strikes from your room ;).. And true, but I didn't buy my Magfed gun because of realism.. I brought it because I like that style of play :)
