is the etek ego really that price?

havnt shot an 05. tbh tho the etek is a pretty nifty shifter. people were fighting over whos gonna use it

The 05 ego is technicaly a better marker than the E-Tek.

1. The E-tek lacks qev's which has a minimal effect on cycling times.
2. The E-tek has coloured led's instead of an lcd screen. Also there are some menu features lost as a result of this.
3. The E-tek uses a microswitch instead of an optical switch. (I personaly prefer a microswitch)
4. The valve chamber / LPR setup is different. (not sure if this improves performance?)
5. Milling is more simple than 05 ego.
6. Barrel has less porting.

Many people have not yet shot the E-tek. (Including myself) I think it is fair to say that it is going to be like the proto series compared to the dm series.

Knowing Planet it is unlikely to disapoint!
