Bonnie Pointer played with The Ramones? Like, no way dude...if you'll pardon the vernacular.

I almost believed it for a millisecond, then I realised that you were confusing Ms Pointer with Ms Easton...hence Sheena is a punk rocker.

Sorry pops...

And if so, how do we fix it? We just spent the '03 season with competing promotors and a million formats with what seems like a couple dozen "champs" of this that and the other. Is that a move forward? If so, where's it taking us?

>I don't think it matters - most extreme sports have different formats and titles, Paintball's just following suit.

Meanwhile, opinion amongst players seems to be split on X-Ball with some lovin' it and others hatin' it. How is X-Ball the future if all it does is drive another wedge between groups of players?

>If it gets on TV the wedge will be gone - fact is, it won't cos Paintball as a proper mainstream sport ain't going to work on TV, IMHO.

The competition between series and promoters has made things better for players. You need competition.
Duff, i'm inclined to think that infact that Paintball could be sold as a lifestyle type of show, but not as a regular series.
But someone must believe it'll work, cause they're sinking a ton of money into the NXL.

The competition, the different titles up for grabs, well at some point there will be one series that stands above the others, and that'll be the one, but for now there's a lot of choice, and the players can pick which events they want to support, and where they will stay away, effectivly voting with their money.

I don't think it's broke. I think it's evolving. That dosn't mean the promoters, players and sponsors can stop trying to improve; i guess what i'm saying is that i think Paintball is in a good place to evolve into a proper extreme sport, with wider spread public acceptance.

Have any of you seen "Surf Camp Hawai" on Trouble? Paintball could do the same kind of thing. Basically they put 7 or so surfers in one house anf do a 10 show series in 30 minute slots about their progress in 4 surf events in hawai. Could they not follow team in either the NPPL or MS for every event, and film them in the hotel, on the planes, in the prelims, semis and finlas. It would make great watching if they chose to follow a team that would make for great viewing.

Newsflash!

That 'cool' factor only applies to other Paintballers...
