Go rent The Punisher (game, not movie) and you shall be satisfied :D The movie had the most non-stop, completely gratuitous violence I've ever seen, and the game has more... and you get to play it all out yourself!

Uh, back to topic... For a paintball game, I thought GHTP was a great effort. Took more of the sports game approach than the war game approach, graphics are alright, and I thought the gameplay was fun (something I've never found in a paintball game before). They are supposed to be releasing a sequel, and I'll be interested to see how that turns out, what improvements and tweaks they make.

Same attraction as football fans get when they buy FIFA, they get to play as all their favourite football players.

Other attraction maybe that players get to see what its like in different positions. Back players in real life can play up front, front players can play back etc

Also the whole idea of being a newbie and building up his skills and moving up the ranks from rookie to pro and managing your own pro team is quite appealing. Something that the majority of players will never ever have the chance to do. So I'd see the game as an 'escapist'.

Hmm maybe your correct.

I never got to build my own VC or torture any in Nam (got an ear necklace though), hence my Love off ghost Recon simulators.

Ah sh*t, flashback......don't make me go out there man.............

Is every run through on the break successful in the real world? GHTP is closer than anything has been, but it needs work.

I agree with dr.strangelove i am in the Infantry and i play paintball and although Ghost recon is ok its far from realistic.

i would far rather play GHTP its cool but at the end of the day its whatever pushes your buttons and for me i get to run around and shoot at things for real.

so GHTP does me fine

Heh well I got GHTP today... haven't stopped playing it. It's not amazing, but it's a lot of fun. The controls are a lot better than I expected them to be.. the graphics aren't bad..

I just wish I had Xbox Live (or friends who paintball, who have an xbox), single player has gotten pretty repetitive now..

And I was thinking about getting GR2, but the first was a disappointment.. multiplayer co-op was fun though

Instead of Live, try Xlink Kai (www.teamxlink.co.uk). It's a free program you install on your computer that allows you to use your internet connection to play System Link with players from all over the world (basically it's a port that makes your Xbox think you're playing system link when you're in fact connected to a game server and playing with folks 'round the globe). There usually aren't all that many people playing Greg Hastings though.

Oh, and GR2, alot better than the original (and Island Thunder). I hated both the first ones, but 2 is quite different and the multiplayer is quite a bit o fun (I play on Kai sometimes. Any time of the day or night you can find people playing GR2. And Halo 2. Insane gamers with no lives)

I love playing Halo2 really late as the European gamers start coming on and telling me what to do with the flag in French. Uh, I mean I have a life.
