The Mouth
Just a nod in the right direction.

A really splendid day!

To think 45 games, 9 rounds, and all finishing positions came down to the very last game for each and every team, it's as good as it gets.

As a meer bystander, to be involved in the atmosphere, banter, friendship, and most importantly seeing the will to win from all teams was a pure pleasure.
A tip of my dodgy hat goes to: obviously Chris and his staff, "Ma and Pa" Chris (excellent food, and as Kev will also agree, top brew "just as it should be" to keep us all alive and kicking), the top draw Pro marshalls, whom without non of this would be possible (next time can you teach me how to work a "walkie talkie" and can I have a different co-sign from t**t), (that quote is for you Moppy!), but most of all a big thank you to all the players and teams that attended today and made it so enjoyable for us all.

To all you winners of trophies, one definitely for the mantlepiece, to all you winners of the raffle, you lucky blighters, to all who just was there, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did, and we'll see you next month. Thank you.:D

I had a mint day, and not just cos we won. The atmosphere was great, the reffing was spot on and all the games were hard fought.

Well done to all the teams that took part, even if you didnt win anything this time, it is the teams that make this event what it is. Also, well done to rapture and mini singer.

Cheers Guys, was a pleasure.

Air Safety at Ionman event

Ok On A Serious Note

After recent air accident.

From Feb we will require all players to be air safety trained for the Ionman event. If you have not got an air fill pass you can not use the air system. Using air system without safety pass will gain you a serious points penalty. If you need an air pass arrive 7.45 for 15 minute lesson and safety chat.

From March onwards the standard £45 a head fee for enterance will rise to £50 if you do not have UKPSF insurance for your gear ! The insurance is currently £12.50 from www.ukpsf.com with this insurance the enterance is £200 / team or £40 a head. So the insurance discount will save you £10 per event !! From May none insured players will not be allowed to play on site.

This insurance is going to be a requirement on a lot of venues with in the next month so please save guard yourself and other players (remember it gains you discount to lots of venues and events). Everything you own is at risk if your equipment causes injury or death and for 25 pence a week you can safe guard yourself !!

Requirements already at Ionman series

No more than 3000 psi fills on site (your own tanks to fill higher are not welcome on site)

All bottles must be in date and UK Pie marked

No under 18 to use air system

All fibre wrap bottles must be in a cover.

Any reg we believe has been tampered with by someone who is not qualified we will ban until proven it has been done proffesionally.

Any damage on a reg or bottle we will not allow it to be used.

Air passes can be gained

from Wakefield Power Play on certain event days

YPC on certain event days

Universal on cetain event days

And from speaking to other people today this will be enforced on some big events soon as well.

Probs the best post i have seen this year so far chris! Because i marshal at your site i know the importance of air safety which you made a massive point of during my extensive marshal training, people dont think about it, they just attach it and think it will work, like you and many many many others you are saftety concious like ya have said fill nipples for sure shud also be changed for above 3000psi, your air fill system is without a dowt the safest system (and the best i have seen .... note here is its internal except the external fill part ( hence your post on filling training which must be applauded!!!!!) so there is no chance of things being touched without profesional guidance) the generator is a diesl engine compessor so is loud when first started but totally safe to fill the bottles etc but all of this is protected in a propper container where nobody except site staff can go anywhere close to and shud the worst happen it is totally contained!

Your event is probs the only venue with propper insurance all round for these tourneys (there are a few others ypc etc) and even tho you can easy fill 5000psi and insured for such, you choose not to for safety reasons, likewise at ypc when we were there they had specific clearly marked slow fill stations.... ok yes these were slower fill but slow does not really meen snail pace, not like 30 mins to get to 3000psi fill more like a minute max from empty, these were safety specific stations for a reason.

I think all sites should take a note out of Universal Paintballs and ypc's book and make safety the parmount thing (and that doesnt meen barrell condoms and masks only lol).

Everyone hates being stuck at the fill station for ages but the fact is its far safter all round for everyone and like 30 seconds etc is not ages really (have to say here probs the best paintball chat and banter i have ever had in always at the air fill).

Until the law changes (and i honestly think a real law on hpa will be servere in the close future) people shud not take hpa as somik of a joke like everyone does (put it this way.... 4500psi is about 45 times more pressure then a marker of 100psi and we all know it doesnt tickle!).

Only real question i have here is... is there a team / group insurance deal kinda thing available or in the forseale future? I know i am insured upto i think 5 million for 3rd party personally (threw a diffrent company that cost a bit) but thats 3rd party so if its somone else and i get damaged then am screwed and the same for most people, so i think the introduction of this is superb!! Has to be said here i pay quite a bit more then the ukpsf and will be changing come my renewal date coz it covers me and also the 3rd party for less!

Be safe people and enjoy the sport you love!!!! :D
