Lol! I was going to say that a 2nd hand 05 for £370 is a bit deer! I have actually never shot an 05 speed, only really looked at them at campaign, so I cant comment on you thinking that there isn't much difference in the performance!

if its a case of one or the other i'd almost definitely go for the ion, no kick, better eyes, cheaper, and in some cases maybe even more reliable if you know what your doing.
but if you want to spend that much then you could have pretty much anything, might be worth getting something a little more tech friendly like an ego or timmy.

EGO all the way buddy! I have never had a problem with mine, and with my old shocker well... i dont want to upset anyone on here but GOD DAMM it was breaking down left, right and center! As I have heard, shockers need alot of maintenace?

have a shocker/ego and to be honest, i love the shocker and the ego, tho they have a totally different feel.
the ego is super efficient, light and imo bit more kick(maybe my setup)
the shocker, quiet, accurate and light, relies on o-rings, and wen one goes thats it, but i have only ever had one go.
dont really think there is alot of performance difference, but the most important thing is feel, try one of each
can i add customer service is important, and PE is second to none.

Got 2 speeds 05's, e2 cockers e1's, and what did i find my self playing with most of the last tourni? an old 'not sure what year' nyx matrix, cos it just felt right had no breaks and was happily sending balls flying, its heavy, guzzles air, but still felt good to me! The only reason i bought it on impulse was i liked the milling! turns out it suits me!
