ion help

Yes I am a great fan of simple engineering.
For example the automag is my favorite design which concists of a bolt which when unhooked from the sear moves forward and releases a fixed volume of air at a fixed pressure.

Or take the angel/timmy/ego design, LP air is supplied to the rear of a ram, which knocks open a poppet valve. Simplicity!

Yes I am missing out some things there (regulators etc), but so are you in your description of the ION.

Obviously the ION has enough performance for you, that is not my point.
My point is that adding an LPR would make it even better. There is no doubting that.

Regarding the longevity of markers, design has a huge roll to play in how a paintball gun wears.

I have received angel LCDs from 1999 that will kick out close to 30bps ball on ball like the day it left the factory.

This is because of the ingenious way they were designed. The valve stem and bolt are the only parts in an angel that wear, replace those and you are laughing.

The same cannot be said for any spool valve marker or any marker at all made by smart parts.

only time will tell as to the longetivity of the ion.

"last time i checked plastic was quiet soft compared to alluminum - if i hit it with a hammer (kinda tempted ) how much you wanna bet it wont shoot again??"

yes but if you hit metal it will bend. if you hit rubber/plastic ur hammer will just bouce off because the material absorbs the impact.
