I have Mole Grips ( and some leather to protect the anno )

still better than a deep reach 6 sided imperial socket to grip on that 1.5 mm of soft brass bolt on the Ion reg

but the cp reg has an inferior flow rate, its an american myth that they are awesome, only reg to upgrade to is either aka sidewinder or aka 2liter+(best flow rate on the market) i also highly rate the evolve pi regs but +-2 from a stock reg is awsome. just get to halfords and ask for a 9/16 deep well socket probably cost you £5 if that and bam your reg can be cleaned and well maintained. with out shelling out what £30 for an inferior reg

Ok I'm a bit lost by this post now. My Ion stock reg was serviced well, as was my CP reg, and I got better consistency over the chrono with the CP reg than mine or any other Ion stock reg.

Never got any drop off or problems with flow or anything with either reg and I managed to chrono the Ion at 23bps in full auto. (Don't ask me why - mad day possibly)

I wanted better consistency and better grouping off paint so I got a CP reg, and it worked. I always when possible used good paint, mainly Draxxus Blaze summer and Frostbite winter, bought from a reputable stockist.

From my personal experience I would rate a CP reg over an Ion stock reg anyday for minimal variation over the chrono. And strap wrenches are as cheap as chips from Halfords. I can't comment on any other reg apart from the ones attached to my PMR and PM6, which are worst case +/- 2 or 3 over the chrono.

just get the small plastic disk that is used in the NXT reg(only difference betwen the 2) it help with stability in the reg, all the NXT's on out team get +-5 or better.
