Thread Jack over?

- Back to my original post - Astro lawn - order a sample from the states (12" by 19") for $14.00. Dont know how much shipping is.

Also visit - http://www.thewaterlesslawnco.com/

They deal in the "waterless lawn" and may be able to cater for your needs i.e. tayloring your order.

The above picture and some information i received told me this was a safe product. It was child safe so there is no reason my some adreanline fueled nutta cant go head first into it! :D Its made to bend like grass and with an appropriate underlay even has the soft-under-foot effect which would be good for heavy impacts. Easy to jet wash and re-fit. Well worth looking into.

Laterz.

the problem with using sand is it gets in the markers.
the best alternative i have seen is crushed gravel, on top of concrete.
The thing is, you have to wash out an indoor site quite regularly, and you need awesome ventelation.

There's this place that we go in Toronto called area 51 that is a great indoor field. The do crushed gravel and it works pretty good. They are built into an old airplane hanger, and the main door is netted off so when the weather is good they open the main door (which lets in the natural light) and let the air circulate.

Crushed Gravel isn't going to be cheap, you might as well invest in something like astro turf, our even out door carpet. If you wash it regularly and have ventelation to let it dry out properly it should last for a few years, of course patching any place with wear.

stuff like this would work:
indoor/ outdoor carpet

the indoor place near me has a wooden floor with concerete patches.....they clean it with a giant ride on floor scrubbing machine and its pritty good to play on when its just been done....if they leave it a few days tho it kinda turns into paint soup in there and no bugger can stand up!

ive seen sand used in indoor places before tho, wasnt too bad

sam, it's pebbles, not sharp rocks, i've seen it mixed with shredded tires.
You'd never want to dive on it, and it's a dog to run through.
Turf is the way to go.

everything has an advantage and a disadvantage,
Gravel isn't slipery, and it dosn't clog up the guns like sand, and it isn't as expensive as astro turf.
but it is hard to run through.
It's fine for playing rec ball on, but if you want a 'grass style' surface, go with real grass or astro turf. But that will be expensive.
I hope i make my self clear.
