What is the longest anyone had to wait to get one fixed by the NHS in a hospital because they have to kill the nail bed.

I am up to 3/4 months and am having to get my local gp to sort it out temporarily to stop the pain.

Who'd have thunk a toe could cause so many problems.

Have you investigated the possibility of going private? If you have health cover at work such as bupa tht would cover it. You could end up waiting a while unless it gets infected.
Alternately hit it with a hammer this will cause a blood clot under the nail and push upwards (very painful) but if you go to casualty they usually remove them then.;)

Private would have cost me £200 to do it (at the time i thought no its too much now a year later...)

No health cover from work.

Its been infected 3 times and each time I take anti-biotics to clear up the infection.

Maybe one day if i get enough resposne i will post up a picture of it :D

Its not just ingrowing any more

I had it removed once and it grew back nastier. Like i say its a visual thing. The inside of my foot is growing out over my nail and it is very painful. (as people who have had these will tell you)
