...should barricades ever get paint on them? I mean, it's not like broken paint on them ever eliminates people?

not quite true... I have seen marshalls pull people for paint of baracades... even when the other team are shooting a different colour
For about the last year, when I've played Sup-Air, the Marshals have wiped the excess paint from the barrricades in between games.

Yeah- it is a good idea to wipe them. Maybe it's a good idea not to shoot the centre of them too, as it's not gonna shoot anyone out

Maybe I should try to be a bit clearer- I'm not talking about marshals wiping them down, I'm talking about why people light them up in the first place i.e. bang in the middle of a barricade

As for shooting the bunker...
We often use it as cover for a mugging, players who don't / can't snap shoot properly rarely seem to come out of the barricade if it is being hammered.
The thing that irritates me are those that feel compelled to shoot the barricades before a game - just after a marshal claens them!
