Dan from planet advised me against getting a titanium hammer as I had a delrin bolt, even though that would of given me an internals weight of 1196. If it was a definate 'right' weight why don't all the aftermarket companies set there impies up to be this weight??
None do!

I think the 1200 grains thing is a load of BS too. You'll generally be fine going light on top with a delrin bolt and titanium pin and heavy on the bottom with a s.s. or brass hammer.

Having said that, one thing I know for sure is that if you go too light with your set-up, that will cause more problems than going too heavy.

Nobody's disagreeing with you, Paul! I think the Rat Impulse internals come in at about 1190, but they also have a ND RIP valve, so I think it's wrong to compare the other internals to an impulse with a stock valve.

Having said that, I've found that every impy I've shot with a brass hammer has had too much kick for my liking, even with super-light bolts. But 1386 (or whatever
PimpDaddyZanwaa worked out) should be fine in my opinion. Heavy enough to work efficiently, but not so heavy you'll get kick or sluggish cycling.
