When I bought the items from the US I paid carriage - or I thought I did.
The £90 was billed as vat and duty plus a handleing fee for the carrier to process the goods at customs and because they were held they then added carriage from the customs to me!! I argued with the carrier but got no where at all

Example
I just got my Halo B that I ordered from the US delivered a couple of days back.
Halo cost $170, which converted to £105 and a few pence. UPS delivery man came and required before he would give the parcel up an additional £32.06, of which £22.06 was import tax and vat, and £10 was a handling charge
