Furbs, I don't have to discredit him, his initial post has already done that for me, I just don't like people coming on here for no apparent reason than to bash a 'name'.
He shoulda kept his big, fat, ignorant gob shut and gone about his business on his own site.

He comes on here mentioning Dynasty 11 times and Chuck seven times in the context of cheating, conspiracy and God knows what else and then asks us to believe he didn't mean to malign Chuck or Dynasty ???

Furbs, I have never had a problem with you nor do I want one, but do your little friend a big favour here and tell him to stay off this site if he intends to post any other crap like that.
He has insulted the name of Dyansty and of Chuck and I have forwarded the post he made to Chuck and Dynasty, just so's they can all mark his card as a lying slag !!!!!
Sorry if I put out the impression that I was angry over this whole thing...for whatever reason you seem to respect me, and I you so as far as I'm concerned there won't be any sort of problems between us. Since Bryan's post was originally part of another, and put into its' own thread in the interest of generating healthy debate and putting the difficult questions out there, I really don't think B was expecting everyone to agree with him, nor did he think he'd make himself popular for asking.

I'm not speaking for him here...B is quite capable of speaking for himself. However, don't think for a moment that I'd associate with someone whom I didn't agree with most of the time. His post regarding Dynasty, Mr. Hendsch et. al was written because it was a question worth asking. If Mr. Hendsch and Team Dynasty are offended by the question or perceive it as a hit on them, then so be it. In my post later in this thread I said pretty much what B had said (intentionally) just packaged a bit differently and with a somewhat different tone. I noticed as of yet that there's been minimal response to that particular post regarding its content.

*sigh* I dunno. As Lambini stated, the question has been asked and answered, so I suppose realistically it's a dead issue. The perception is still out there, but there's not alot that can be done about that. Now there's a perception that B's a lying slag, a hack, a muckraker. And because I'm associated with him I'm sure that perception will attach itself to me as well. I promise you, we're quaking in our little paintball booties at the thought. I recently had a story I'd written spiked because of the content of it...it was all factual, and the presentation of those facts was fair and unbiased, but the story was spiked partially because of a phone call we'd received, and realistically it could have been seen as beating a (nearly) dead horse. I didn't like it, I fought against it, but I was outvoted. The phone call that we received sounded remarkably like some of the posts here...the whole hack, muckraker, S.O.B., why-are-you-associating-with-these-people bull**** game that alot of people play in an attempt to manipulate the press. It's a dirty nasty business, and it changes your outlook in some ways. Speaking for myself, I never got into the media side of the sport looking to make a name for myself or get famous. Right now, the only way to do that is to play professionally on a top team. I initially started doing my show to advertise my shop in Oklahoma, and I enjoyed it. My goal wasn't to have people asking for my autograph, etc. or to get myself in all the magazines pulling l33t-ninja-style moves on some poor sod unfortunate enough to warrant my wrath. Believe it or not, the goal was to get the "Oh ****...it's HIM again" reaction. Thus far I've been pretty successful getting that reaction, and along the line I've managed to get genuine respect from some members of the industry, the players and even from my fellow members of the media.

Anyways, I've rambled on long enough. For the record, Byran's opinions are his and his alone, as are mine. I don't regulate the content of what he writes, and he doesn't regulate the content of what I write or what I say on the show. When I signed on to Paintballchannel.com I made a point of having it put in the contract that I'd retain editorial control of the content of my show. TJ, sorry for the misunderstanding...I'll run the idea past Bryan today about putting a story in the editorial section regarding the content of his opinion regarding Hendsch, etc., or I may just write one myself. The newest show went up last night...look on the left side of the page under my blue and black logo there. You can either stream or download the show.

And Duffistuta...keep an eye on the west coast of FL in 2004...perhaps you'll see some of the answers to the questions you're posing here.

"It's a dirty nasty business, and it changes your outlook in some ways."

Furby, you are a master of understatement:p ...if you only knew the number of 'those' calls, the lawsuits, the threats (physical and financial)...when I write my memoirs of my time on PGI I'll reveal all...

I can only imagine some of the stories you could tell....

"You are the master of the understatement"

"I thought you were bigger" (my wife in particular says this alot, even after knowing me for several years)

and

"I thought you were older than that"

Are statements I hear alot...not sure why... :D

But yes, it's downright brutal at times...as much as we complain about it, imagine the calls/threats/lawsuits/rumor/speculation that media from larger, more established sports get! Then again, look at the scrutiny that larger, more established sports are subject to...it's a matter of proportion, eh?

Byron and the others out their that are concerned with Dynasty and Chuck. Thank you for your concern there will be a formal press release coming out within the next week or so telling everyone that Dynasty is now its own entity.
Both parties have been working on a deal since before the Chicago NPPL to go their seperate ways. As a player on the team
I feel that we needed to distance ourselves from Chuck for the
exact reasons that Byron has brought up. I myself as a person am a very close friend of Chuck and have know him for a very long time and will continue to do so.
The split for the team and Chuck will mean the first league that has no direct ties to a promoter. All the other League promoters actually own a paintball team. Conflict of interest? Yup.
It has not been a easy thing doing this but it is the best for
the team and the best thing for the NPPL.
We have played in the PSP already this year and will probably play in their series again this year. We play where we want
to play and where our sponsors ask us to.

Best Wishes

Whenever Mr. Lambini chooses to show himself and face the microphones...I'll be at World Cup (playing and covering) and at the Miami Super 7 (covering only)...so...whenever he chooses to enlighten us on the joys of Professional Play in Nutbush...

Two points.

One: You have no idea who owns NPPL by checking information filed with the Stateof California. If all you did was search online, the only thing you know is who the registered agent is. that's just the person and address the state sends correspondence to. You may also be able to get a list of their officers and directors mailed to you, *IF* NPPL has filed them with the State. That *STILL* doesn't tell you who owns it.

Ownership of a corporation is *VERY* different from who RUNS the corporation, and absent the corporate bylaws, you have no way of knowing how the ownership pics the board and officers. And the only way to get a copy of those bylaws? From NPPL, but they're only required to give them to you if you're a shareholder (owner). And privately held companies are under no obligation to tell you who owns them.

So whoever was saying NPPL is owned by Chuck is, at best, guessing.

Two:

Paintball has gotten far enough along that we need to recognize that there is no such thing as cheating as far as on-field behavior goes. There are penalties, and if penalties are not being called when they should be, there are also varying degrees of inadequate reffing.

The players are there to play, and the refs are there to ref. The players are not there to make sure that the rules are followed, they are there to win.

Solve the reffing problem and the "cheating" problem will mostly go away.

- Chris

Note: I'd still consider having illegal equipment cheating, as it's not like a ref can determine what kind of board you're using during the game.

And below is a press release that Chuck just winged over to me that should clear some matters up :-

FOR IMEDIATATE RELEASE;

417 Main Street suite 209
Huntington Beach Ca. 92648

Press Release:

Team Dynasty – Management Changes

Team Dynasty began in 2001 under the leadership of Chuck Hendsch. For the past year Chuck Hendsch has focused more on his position as President of the National Professional Paintball League. Today Chuck Hendsch and Team Dynasty have decided to part ways, leaving the Team to restructure under Dynasty Paintball Club LLC. The new player ran team has big plans. Part of their plans include supporting their current major sponsors JT USA and WDP and negotiate new deals with outside sponsors to allow the team to support their rigorous tournament and training schedule.

Chuck Hendsch had this to say; “ Dynasty has developed into a very strong organization where each player contributes to the overall success of the Team. Today, I believe my current position, as President of the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) does not leave me the time or the resources needed to run a team. My focus is on taking the sport to the highest level, which includes television, mainstream venues and a strong player base. Furthermore I feel as president of the NPPL I should not have any direct affiliation with a team or sponsor in the league. My goal is promote each and every team in the NPPL equally.”

Look for Chuck Hendsch to be more involved with the running of PRO Referee training programs and developing player’s clinics where players can develop their game to the fullest.
