Leagues.

We used to have the Home Counties, Midland and Northern leagues and at the end of the season we had another event for all the top four from each division in a neutral site play off.
I thought it was fine but it failed after two or three years and the team I was in had to go out of our area to get the competition we needed.

I agree it (done correctly) could be a good thing but, when the leagues used to run it was all ten man woodland.
What would we do now. Woodland or Sup-air.
I assume you would vote sup-air so what format 5 man, 7 man or make it a real game and play Xball.

It would be easy to arrange and sort out - I could do it in a weekend but and there is always a but. Who would the teams trust to do it.
Now lets make another assumption, It's sorted the leagues are in place and everything is ready to roll and Mr or Mrs X want to run there own event it is wrong to say no you can not so the teams are then cajoled into playing even more events than they can afford.

Teams split, players leave the game and we start it all over again in three years.

Great idea and definitely the way forward eventually but I am not sure if the teams would really support it yet.

And to keep in line with the thread.
I would change the Organisers for a fresh batch or a least lock them in a room with a mandate to get tournament paintball sorted.
Can be done for both supair and woodland, nothing to stop there being a woodland 5 man league run along the same lines as Supair

I have seen team fold, merge and form after a single year in the UK American Football league and the league adapts.

What format:- well in my view the best that 99.9% of brits can attain is playing in Europe so that is the level we should pitch at

Similar to the majority (above):

Introduce an International Governing Body which actually had the power to 'run' paintball.

This organisation would:
- consolidate the leagues,
- dictate the format,
- control gun/marker purchases,
- talk to governments about paintball-specific legislation (HP air, rate of fire, etc)
- be supported by the manufacturers and be able to set guidelines for gun manufacture and performance,
- make it very difficult for new tournament series to operate outside of the Governing Body's umbrella,
- more to follow;)

In other words, go along the lines of the FIA's involvement in Formula 1.
That would be awesome. As Russ pointed out on a different matter there would be trust issues, but if there was some kind of representation it could be wicked. Give the players something to commit to and unite under. Lovin it.

Suggestion? Better paintballs. Next big change will be in the encapsulation process I predict (pure speculation of course:rolleyes:)

QFT.

I'd do away with all the pretensions and illusions of grandeur, and get people just wanting to play and have a good time (be it compete at mills, rec/woodsball or whatever).

Or if that's too much, allow banadannas round the neck and untucked jerseys again :D
QFT again. But i'd want to go back 5 years.

Women, and I don't mean change the ones that already play but get more of them playing. We really need to balance out the view from the staging areas, some of you are ugly fcukers, that's for sure. :p

Swap Quantity for quality.

I guess this follows a lot of the other points on here but cut the series from 10 rounds to like 5 or 6 and the top teams feed up to the next level. but make those 6 tournies the most wicked tournies around. i can hear some of u screamin already, but in the absence of these other legs get local fields i.e. freeks and snetty to host 10 - 20 team mini events for cash money.

radical far out thought but sounds good to me

cheers

Cut out the bull**** (as mentioned before).

Get Government backing for sites and events.

Make the sport more affordable to the masses.

One league and format across the lands.

One set of rules across the world.

Bring back Country vs Country paintball. (Even though the US would win mostly it would be worth a watch).

Bring back the DCF and their merry men.

Bring in drugs testing to make the sport seem more official.

Sure theres more but thats enough to pick at and chew.
