And Paul if they let you out of that looney bin that you call "a place of employment" more often you would of discovered that it gets a bit warmer in the summer (not much admittedly, but it does)

Bring it on sarky boy;)
Doh, me missread your post I thought you said it didn't do it in summer! oops my bad!

If youread the relivant bits on the it's getting really cold thread and I warn you noww they are few, it and I will warn you that markers no co2 do not like extreams in temperture saterday was silly cold much worse than sunday and the co2 was tempremental.

Or should that be temperature mental July and august were amasingly hot much sunbathing was done down on site, but again the co2 is badly behaved.

Running on air is one way round this, ishould imagine changing to air will only enhance your markers performance as it is a cleaner propellant and dose less damage to your internals also it is far more constant.

Untill then keep your gun up right an expation chamber might help. and in the summer keep your bottle out of the sun appart from any thing else you can blow birst discs pain in the ar-e.

Pretty common sense why it iced up at that speed, basically when your shooting that much paint you are asking more of your gun and in the cold / hot extreams it's just too much.

Good luck and think of me next time it's real cold if your having probs cause it's way too cold then no dout we will be having some of our own. Apart form looking like mitchlen womman cause I am wearing 4-5 jumpers. lol:)

Cheers sparklie

Might just put that gas hog on to air yet:)

Try an ex army cold weather boiler suit for the winter, not exactly high fashion but they be warm and paint bounces off them if some muppet thinks you're really a player satnding there in the open

Thought i'd add a useless bit of information :D

Air ain't as clean as every one thinks. . . nearly all air compressors use nasty grease n crap that gets into the scuba tank and so into ya gun. . . unless ya go to a place where has a lube free compressor like me! :D

So that does not mean just nick air off me like the rest of the Pimps!! :p ;) (mind'u thinkin about it that happen already! )

alternative...

I know that shockers do actually run better on Co2 than air . I'd email planet and get an expert opinion of Jack Wood or someone, just that it could be some sort of other reason other than the fact it was cold + it still does it in the summer.

Be cool:cool: oh no sorry i mean not too cool, u might freeze over..

Any ideas on why this is happening and how to cure it short of fitting its own heater unit:D

Thanks in advance people

Alien
You say you have checked the anti syphon...how? cos i have run a shocker to the result of the bottle freezing and the reg but never has it gone through the marker
I have to say the easiest way to freeze the components of a shocker using CO2 is to over fill the bottle and of course use in very cold weather, though sounds like you are doing one of the two IE over filling and the anti syphon is not in the right position ...just having one attached to the valve isn't enough it has to be positioned right

yep !! sounds like you have but then then the seal must have become blocked for the pressure to have gotten that high...do you have the filter fitted? either way a trip to Smart Parts is needed also you know that the solenoid seals are "handed" that is they only work one way round get them upside down and you will vent gas everywhere also if you are careful you can clean the solenoids but you have to be very careful cotton buds and all that stuff if you nick any of the O rings inside you are in a world of hurt cos i don't think Smart Parts do the replacement parts...all it says in the manual is if it don't work replace the whole thing.............not cheap

I have changed my shockers to air and after a few teething problems (mainly cracked firing piston) it is performing excellently. I have a new Max Flow 4500 psi with a 1.5L bottle and I love it. The bottle is not that much bigger than the standard 1.1 bottles, but it holds enough air for my gas hogs. Very very consistant too. Makes a change to freezing my arm to the co2 bottle at the end of every game :D
