Well...it is not so bad ...Paella is usually good thanks to the hot fridges and the same applies to tortillas :D

Here in Portugal is 38ºC now and tomorrow will be training day...

Robbo, I thinks you should come to south of Europe more often to enjoy some warm weather and not the "grim" UK weather ;)... I'll bet that Pedro could get you a nice holiday deal ;) And we'll be glad to welcome Nexus to a hot training day ...

Cheers
JAC

P.S.- After a hot training day nothing feels better than beach from 18h-21h30 ;) and a cold beer ... Ask Ricardo from UK Jags ;)

I guess everything is relative. I grew up in "Hotlanta", Georgia in the USA where it is has been that same temperature but at the same time cloudy and around 100% humidity. Believe me, high temperatures AND high humidity is much more uncomfortable than what's in Spain right now. Of course that's HOT, HOT, HOT for a Norwegian.:)

The key is staying hydrated. Drink water and/or something like Gatorade before you're thirsty and continue all day long. Also use a spray bottle filled with water to spray a mist on yourself every chance you get.

I'm actually looking forward to some sunshine. We haven't had more than a couple of days of summer so far here in Sweden and that sucks.

C ya in Madrid.

To add to Steve's list above:

After you've sprayed your head and face with water, make sure to wear something that covers your head, like a towel. The water droplets will otherwise act like a prism and speed up the effects of sunburn and sunstroke.

And Steve, Atlanta is indeed hot in the summer, I agree. I found it worse than Florida to be honest.

Good point Jay. Head cover is absolutely essential. People with heads like us would be even crazier in an hour or so. (Anybody for boiled brain?)

True about Atlanta. At least in Florida you're usually close to a body of water and there's often a breeze. Back in the 10-man daze it was almost amusing to see the young-uns who ran the flag puke their heads off, all pale-faced. I played every single Sunday all day and it made a gigantic difference if I drank water the night before and first thing in the morning just to get prepared. It's also amazing how I could drink several liters and not need to pee all day long.

Is the organisers decision to keep this event to a errrr relatively intimate number of teams, an indication that we can all expect a mid afternoon siesta? ;)
