strongle, no need to be confused. its a messed up idea. from what i gather, i reckong he means that you just break the beam, so if the beam is 1mm away from the trigger frame, when you hit the frame, you shoot by breaking the beam, but it still doesnt make it any faster or less effort as you are doing the same action as with a trigger.

plus, tis illegal, one shot for one PULL of the TRIGGER. see the keys words.

next idea please

Actually Mak, the Ir part of the Ir3 was the Infer Red communication between markers (i.e. the txt your mates in a middle of a game thingymabob), which I don't know if anybody used........ I think.

But I also seem to remember something about Opto boards or something, optical checking of switch activation, hey I'm a Banker not a Rocket scientist, as long as paint comes out the business end at 15+ balls a second I'm a happy punter.

I read up on the Ir3 and the Infra red was wot actually made the gun fire when the trigger was pulled the IR light went onto a sensor and told the gun to shoot, making it more faster way of signalling the gun to shoot or sum mince like that, i read a good amount of stuff bout it cause i was gonna get an IR3 back in the day.
And am sure thats why it was called the Ir3, is every1 else on a differnt planet from me, or am I right and you lot are all wrong??

Ledzy..Jack help me man, sum1 with knowledge back me up lol :D

Dude, you actually read the manual???. Didn't realise bunker munkys could do that. I thought that was the Opto trigger sensor or Sensi. I thought the Opto boards only come out at Mem 4 or above (i was thinking they started at Mem2).

I could be wrong because, hey who the fo'sheezy reads the manual anyway. Point and Shoot, point and shoot dude. One of my team mates told me all about it down the pub.......... (well actually he had to show me how to turn the sodd*ng thing on  ).

The E-blade runs on an optical switch doesn't it? the trigger breaks the beam and that actuates the solenoid. So it's pretty much in use anyway. As for a wheel........ you'd get short rapid bursts followed by a gap as you move your finger back to the top, so pretty pointless. And also illegal, as it still isn't a trigger "pull" involving a pull and return action.
Lots of ways to increase ROF been suggested, most have been either bad ideas, unworkable or illegal. Just practice more. Anyway, 22 bps is pointless, 7 hits per game is more use.

Oh, the reason for using an optical trigger is 1: it's damn quick and 2) less moving parts/friction so no switches to wear out etc....

If it's a two way wheel (rolls back and forth) you just move your finger up and down without taking it off the wheel - shoots on the down and up... longer strings with only tiny gaps as you hit the top/bottom of the cycle. Tho still technically illegal... :(
