Anyone else have problems with the new fill rigs at yesterdays D7's.........

The air flies through them so fast, it went and flash filled my Angel AIR.........!!!!!!!

The display keeps reading garbage......... can't possibly be true.

I knew I didn't like them when I saw them.

The HPAC crew did say that there would be another regulator installed between the compressors and the fill rigs. Something about making the flow slower. Can't understand why they wern't in there already if they know there's a problem.....

You couldn't even regulate it yourself. It was either FULL ON or OFF..............

If you wern't there, or didn't have a problem yesterday, beware in future...

Hate to disagree with you - but I had zero problems with those fill rigs, the fill was fast, but nowhere near a 'Flash fill'

In fact - those very rigs are used at all the EXL/Open X-Ball Millenniums with no problems for any of the teams that I heard about.

And if you wanted to fill your bottle more slowly, why didn't you put a 1000psi or so in, wait a little and then add some more?

As usual - I have nothing but praise for H-Pac and the quality service they provide.

Whats the  for?????

It's what happend. The H-Pac guy was standing right next to me when I filled it. I did nothing wrong. As soon as I pushed the lever I could hear the air 'flowing' into the tank at a fast rate. In fact, I continued to fill the tank by pushing the lever... let it go.. push the lever..... let it go...... etc.....

Also, they said that these were new prototype units. How come the EXL/Open X-Ball Millenniums are using them....

Not only that, but they told me that the units that are usually there ( at the D7' s) were being used in Madrid, so how can they be using the same stations as we did, when all the usual 'older' fill stations were out there.

A Flash Fill is when air is 'slammed' into your regulator at a high rate. Which is what these stations have done to mine......

It was HPAC's own staff that informed me that they will be introducing another regulator to reduce the 'flow' rate. Why would they do this if everything is all OK in the first place????

I was in no way trying to taint the reputation of H-Pac and their staff. I think they do a good job.

I dunno mate - I just pit-crew for the London Tigers EXL squad and have used the exact same system in Amsterdam ;)

Ummm, because there was no EXL or Open X-Ball at the Madrid Millennium?

Obviusly Mr Pink, you have no idea of what a Flash Fill is......

You're quite right - I thank you for your help in pointing out the obvious I guess that the 4500 fills in Toulouse last year and Paris this year must have been 'Super Flash Fills' or something because they were at least twice as fast - when filling my bottles yesterday, even from empty and without stopping, they never got more than very slightly warm to the touch (a easy to read sign of the speed of the fill)

As for H-pac's comment - I wasn't there, but as I mentioned earlier, I and the Tigers Am, Kidz and Young Guns had no problems with the speed of the fills

Thank god that French dude has retired... hopefully all his kit will be drawing a pension too - to say it was a "flash" fill is an understatement: I think the air went in so fast it broke the laws of physics and actually sent you back in time with each press of that little green button...

The reason your screen on your AIR was talking rubbish... was probally because if you leave them in direct sunlight for long enough they start to burn out....(I thought i was getting a message from a near by Alien Mother ship...) same thing happened to my IR3 and AIR last year.... Keep your LCD screens out of direct powerful sunlight...

Well one of the 4,500psi fill rigs would not fit on my Angel AIR fill nipple and I believe some other players were not able to fill of any of the rigs, this was also an issue at the big game in Lasham, so there is still a compatibility issue with the new style fill station.

I felt that the rig had been improved since the big game, in that the lines nolonger whipped you if you pressed the wrong lever and the fills were significantly slower than last time, but still much quicker than I would have manually done on the old style rig, I noticed that my bottle was getting much much hotter than off the old rig and that when the bottle had cooled a bit the pressure dropped much more than usuall, so in general I would say that whilst they were not actually "flash" filling this time, the rate was still way to high.

So an improvement over the first outing at the big game, but it looks like some more adjustments will be needed, especially on the nipple compatibility front.

Regards Alex
