No idea mate, i always try to shake the hands of teams before or after the games.

I'm new in the Shockwave am camp and didnt realise there was a history between anyone.

I really enjoyed our game against you guys, it was fast and fun! Hope we play at the next M25 event, should be fun.

See you soon dude,

no probs mate! see you next time. we are not playing Maxs, Germany, but are playing Amsterdam, could be a good idea to hook up before we go and get some sort of relationship going between teams, already got one pal in your team from a long time ago (Wizz) we used to play together 8 years ago!!

good luck in Germany!

Cost of paintball & Sponsorship in the UK

yep i do,we need to drop the cost of pb products over here(uk),us mere mortals can not afford to train and travel, and without new blood getting into the game ,how are we supposed to compete with the yanks
The cost of paintball; in the UK is about as low as it's ever going to go...the only way things will improve is paintball as a sport can start pulling in funding from outside...everyone seems to think that the paintball companies are all rolling in huge amounts of dosh that they're just itching to give away in sponsorship for teams. In fact paintball companies are just about played out and many had to cut back on sponsorship this year because the level in this country was unsustainable.

Unfortunately the way paintball is at the minute there is no outside interest and there won't be as long things continue the way they are.

Not going to go into details here, but there's an article in the Paintball Association Magazine (which I'm not allowed to mention here by name apparently) that lays out the framework for a format that is geared towards changing "outside" attitudes towards paintball.

Not much has been said about or by the Paintball Association since it came into being at the end of last year but it has been working very hard behind the scenes since the start of the year.

If you'd like a copy of the article let me know and I'll send you a copy, or just grab me at event if you see me walking around...

If we can't change the way people outside the sport perceive it and start dragging in external funding then everyone's is just gonna have to dig deep into their own pockets. The PA in conjunction with several of the larger Paintball companies in the UK and some well known names in the industry are working very hard to achieve the change I'm talking about but at the end of the day it'll come down to the players to take the plunge...

Watch this space for an announcement soon.

why is it then that the gear manufacturered in the UK can be bought in the states cheaper than direct?

we surely must look at the availibilty of kit here also, if you were out walking around....say...Reading a week ago and saw this huge event with a sport that you thought looked well cool, and fancied a go, where would you buy some kit? unless you grabbed one of the ballers you would find it very hard to find any!

we take it a bit for granted that we know where, when, and how much this stuff is!

2p plop (copied i know, but i thought it was cool! :D )

I believe we need to advertise tourney paintball more in the UK. In the states kids know about it from the age of 11 and end up being pros we need that here to train kids young so they have great experience by the time they are 20 then we can kick some yank arse. even though we already do lol

I really don't understand this whole "Yank" thing.

Anyone reading some of these posts might be given the impression that all the Us teams and players were born with 5 markers/player, 3 sets of Dye playing kit each and a load of wedge in there back pockets so that they could play whenever they liked!!!

Do you honestly beleive that they are blessed from birth with the skills and commitment that they have?

Do you honestly beleive that it hasn't taken years of training and practice for these guys to be as good as they are??

The difference between the U.K and the US game boils down to commitment and the unshakable urge to be the best!!!

You don't need 100 cases of paint to get your asses down to your neartest site and practise your snap shooting. 1hr and 500 paintballs is all it takes!!!

Untill people stop whinging about how expensive it is to play and start using what finances they have in a structured and efficient way, U.K paintball ( for the majority ) will consist of lucky games and a good night out afterwards.

Just a suggestion,........instead of flaming "the Yanks" for actually being good at something;) try learning from them.

After-all, learning from the best in the world can't be a bad thing.....can it?

Nice one brov, never a true word spoken.I think alot of it is down to the willingness to improve and for people to admit that they are maybe not as good as they think. There is one man who luckly for me has made me realise that my game needed alot more, and i had the sense to listen and it is paying off.The whole team is improving cos of it the bloke is a f***ing genius. We are lucky not everyteam has a bald spongy head fag but everyone can find nessecary info from various sources so do it(u never stop learning).

Anyone going to Camp at the weekend c u there.Next stop on the nexus rollercoaster.

ok think of this. name me a pro team in the UK that gets 500 boxes of paint FREE per month to train with! 8 boxes in one training session which cost us just under £300 and they get like 40 times this for free!!! as i know there arent any pro teams in the uk that get this much free paint to train with...how can we possibly train as much so we can be as good?? people lives CANNOT revolve around paintball unless u actually own a paintball company simply because money has to be spent on other things...like food and the family.....
