if it were free their profit could be made from the interest of holding your funds for x amount of time - everyone should know that about banking. an example of this is why banks take so long to tranfer money via cheques.

liam talking about cheques you got mine for the gloves?

Here is what Nochex have to say about the latest pricing.

Dear Philip,

Just a reminder that with Nochex not only is it FREE to send money but it’s also so incredibly easy! Or as we like to say - it’s Freasy!

As you may remember - we used to charge to load money into your Nochex account or to send money from your card – not any more though! Both these options are totally free, plus you can also use your credit card.

"Hurray” I hear you saying…well yes indeed, as now you can spend spend spend until the cows come home and you will not incur any charges from us.

If you ever need to send money to someone using Nochex then just either use the QuickSend feature on our homepage or you can do so from the send money page within your Nochex account.

Bearing all this in mind, the next time you are paying for something online or at an auction why not ask if you can pay using Nochex, just tell them that it’s “Freasy peazy lemon squeezy!”

You've inadvertantly hit the nail on the head here - none of these companies are banks. In fact, it would be illegal for them to operate as a bank, who in the example above, exploit the "3-day clearance" time to inflate their accounts with YOUR money, which can then be used for their day-to-day investments.
Anyway, as such, companies like PayPal are also not covered by the many rules and regulations that govern banks. They are exploiting a niche market created by the banks themselves who don't make it easy to obtain an internet merchant ID. The reason behind this is simple - banks DO cover you to some extent against fraud. If they see your company as a potential liability, they don't issue you an ID, which limits their exposure. Companies like PayPal don't have any such policy (if you read the conditions thoroughly, you'll notice that an extremely unique and near-impossible set of circumstances need to be met before they will agree to cover you for losses) because they are not required by law to hold capital that covers such situations.

Just bear that in mind and be careful whenever you have to deal with these companies.

In the meantime, I'll be selling "I told you so..." T-shirts at all major tournies (cash only - no PayPal) :D :D :D
