How do you choose your forum name??

ive used the name Jahlad for quite a while now, maybe upto 10 years ish. origonally i used the name on a MUD (a text based multi player online game) for my second character. i still also use the name Vaul a lot on online games which was my main character at the time and a name i used for longer than i remember.

Jahlad was taken from a star trek next gen episode called 'Darmok' and was the name of a warrior who met with his enemy Darmok on a remote planet and was forced to unite with him to defeat a common foe.

Vaul my other online id is taken from the Warhammer 40000 universe created by games workshop and is the name of the Eldar weaponsmith god who tricked a chaos demon and then later killed it with his greatest creation a sword he named 'Anaris' the dawnlight. I have also been known to use the name Anaris on occation.

Im a bit of a star trek junkie.. i know the episode, where the alied dude keps saying "Darmok, and Jahlad, at Tanagra, when the walls fell"

ironicly.. ive had people ask me if my name is from an episode of voyager, (or rather 2) about the only other federation ship to be standed in the delta quadrent, called the Equinox...

When i first discovered the forums i kept on trying to register with a variation of combos of my name gary_c, ggcraig, and so on, then i figured it was due to my yahoo e-mail account that i was unable to complete the registration process, seeing as i had screwed up those names it came to me one night after several beers i shoul get an msn account and see if that worked, now i used to be into performance sports bikes in a big way , and one the writers used a ghost name "Enid Puceflange" it always made me laugh so i adopted it, lo and behold it worked that time i registered it so i just kept it

So now i am stuck with it.

Mine can along when i first started playing online games, i was a timesplitters fan at the time (still are) and it was going to be manic monkey but that wouldn't fit in the box so the last two letters got axed to make monk. I think it sounds better than monkey anyway.

Well Sajj is short for Sajjad my name, and when many years ago I setup my hotmail account I couldn’t have Sajj, Sajj1 or Sajj2 ect. it appears there were already 100 sequential Sajj’s out there before me. So I became the 101st Sajj with a hotmail account.
