Andy's idea with the burst discs is good, but you must remember the staff at airports are not paintballers, so there ability to identify whether the bottle is empty is suspect.

Very hot water on the neck of the bottle, no naked flames at all. Clamp the reg in a vice and with a good grip on the bottle, unscrew.

I am so glad PMI invested in a machine to put the regs on and save lives, when I read how people are taking regs off etc it makes me feel so much better and I can sleep at night knowing your all safe!

Just take the rupture disc out........... it's simple really. It has worked for me for 10 years!

Tried that. Bust 2 strap wrenches & 1 chain wrench. Tried a steam jet (>150deg C) for roughly 20 mins Clamped bottle in a 24" engineers vice (with softjaws) & knocked the Ba$tard thing off with an ally drift.

Really you supprise me, maybe they are hard to get off because it is safer that they don't come off!
