I'm biased because I own one, but a second hand etek is the best value for money (imo) that I've seen for a new guy. They're fantastically simple to maintain and will compete at pretty much any level. It really is down to personal preference though, and PMRs are a bargain even new. Like others have said, try to get your hands on some diff. markers and see what makes you go "oooooooh" in your pants. :D

Sorry mate, but i don't really think you're helping. That sentence makes no sense whatsoever.

to the OP, you really need to try out some markers for yourself to see how you like them. It's easy to base everything on looks here, and you might end up with something you're not at all happy with.

If you plan on just playing walkons, my advice is to get a pair of goggles (mask) first and renting a setup until you find a marker you like. You should really try some goggles on for yourself, some of the major brands to look out for are events (or avatars), vforce grillz, vforce profilers, dye invision 3's (abbreviated to I3) or the JT flex series. I would recommend buying new for goggles, but the rest of your gear is fine to buy second hand. I just don't trust my eyes to the previous owner of the mask and what he/she might have done to the lense.

Also is there any teams in around my area?
Hey mate, yes there are teams in the area. There's us, the Snakes in the Grass, the Warpigs & WCU in Wolves, the Urban Assasins in Coseley, loads more just can't think of them off the top of my head.

The PMR is a great gun! I had one and always regretted having to sell it. It's stupidly light, fast, easy to use, uses a bit more gas than I like but still brilliant. The Etek, if you can get one, is brilliant. Only problems I've had with it are down to me being too dim to remember to lube it :p

What are you looking to play, tourny, woodland, walkons? All of the above?

Where abouts in Staffs are you mate? We're based in and around Stafford.

Opps sorry about that i was typing really fast because i was going out

what i was saying is, if your lucky you may be able to pick up an ego 05 for around the same price as a brand new pmr (ive seen brand new pmrs from £150 to £250 in different places)
