SPOD FACTORY

3 Campaign Players + 3 kids (13,14 and 15 yrs old) and an old bloke with a dodgy knee :0)

Now that is definitely not a full strength Campaign team by any stretch of the imagination......and why?......because most of them had stepped in to judge the event. To stand in the blazing sunshine on saturday and in the pissing rain on Sunday!!!!!

Yeh there were some bad calls and there were some good ones. So the judging was the same as any other tournament i have ever played in.

As for the two judges.... and only two judges that let Scutty and Campaign down on Saturday night......dont tar the whole crew with the same brush!!!

Well done all the teams that played the Pro Tour and i am sorry that there wasnt even a mention of the Tour at the presentation, or trophies or ANYTHING.

After the top division of HG being put into Pro Tour i would have thought that whoever won Pro Tour would win HG3?????

...obviously not. And for the record Sherrif that was not Campaign Promotions doing or Scutty's but the HG organisers, so if you want to bitch at someone for your pat on the back, speak to them.

Peace all and thanks to Quake for some awesome balling.

Jeff

Firstly this format is the bollocks.

Ive never been to an event where noone has complained about the reffing, and i geuss this is no exception. I think the refs did a good job, esspically considering they were up at early o'clock re-building the entire field on sunday morning.

Respect to SPOD factory and tigers, real hardcore games.

The format in it's "normal" form is cool. We had some long waiting periods between games.

The atmosphere wasn't too good *my humble opinion* Most events you go to, there is a nice feel to it. That wasn't the case this weekend.

Yes, the marshals have been up in the crack of dawn and respect for that. Specially when they have been up all night.

Still that does not make up for their (again not all of them) behaviour on and off field.

Enough of this. We from HPG will play the Pro Tour again, hoping that it will be better. Knowing Scutty I am pretty sure that a disaster like the last one is not likely to happen again.

Scutt...still love you and Beer is on me next time! Campaing!

Luv,

Much love right back to you Jurgs - you guys really showed a depth of maturity in your squad to be able to change your playing style in just a few hours to suit the format better.

Whatever the "official" result, there's no doubt in my mind who the real winners were this weekend.

mmmm! How can a ref run over the field when half of them where lying down on the floor for the games (if you were that tired either go to bed earlier or get some pro plus. I appreciate this at the very beginning but not for no longer than 30seconds into a game, from then on they should be in positions to view as much as they can and to what’s going on! I thought a small number of the judges where actually seen to be doing a professional job to which what was asked off them. However without naming name's
how many events have you ever played in the public eye and seen judges larking about ,wearing non reffing extra's such as Mac's (must be a city slicker but where was his briefcase) carrying things in their hands the rake(was this to drag players out of their bunkers :D as well as spent paintballs).
Reffing or judging should be done with out any animosity at all be the players are friends or enemies.

If you like I manage to watch some to the HG3 other fields I don’t recall seeing any of the above. These reffs took their job seriously.

As for the other incidents such as HPG's surely I hope that those involved realize this could have been reported to the local boys in blue. (Suggestion to you replace what you took and apologise on this board to all to know your scum! If you can steal from fellow ballers your the lowest of the low.

Thanks though to scutty and tigers for getting it all back on track for Sunday. Though Scutty you need to work on your honking noise or invest in an airhorn :D

Well done to all teams that played both Pro Tour and Heavens Gate.

I will second that Pinki, I feel a lot of teams had a bad call or two over the weekend but more seemed to when playing the team called SPOD in the pro tour.

It would have been better to call it what it was, CAMPAIGN GUESTS.

No disrespect to the guys playing for SPOD coz they are great players, but can anybody answer the question about the judging in the finals.

We all know each other in our beloved sport and we all know who is mates with who, but if you judge your mates do it fairly.

Why oh why did QUAKE have four judges watching them with SPOD only having two judges at their end and more importantly why were the judges at SPOD's end of the field watching QUAKE.

You watch the players in your area not the other end of the bloody field.

After one of the game that SPOD won, half of the judges were patting their backs and congratulating them, they still had games to play to win the tourney, it was all just too matey for it to be called fair judging.

I hope the pro tour continues to grow but this weekend will leave a sour taste in many peoples mouths.

Later

:)

Thanks guys was an interesting change from the normal 7 man we all enjoyed the format just a shame we didn't play well on Sunday ! Although gotta give respect to Wayne and my old man for stepping in at the last minute ! and to our put crew!

I thought the reffing was ok we got 1-4-1'd a few times (Well jay did;) ) and so did the other teams we played it's never gonna b perfect! Gotta say they did great sunday getting the Pro tour backup and running!

Jeff as for your comment about the HG organisers not saying anything about the Pro-tour in the presentation! That’s a load of poo mate ! Pro-tour was a completely separate event hosted at HG3 What ever teams played it syd had no control over the pro tour so there for was not down to him to do any sort of presentation for it!

Like to say thanks to tigers HPG and ROF for our games ! and to quake for helping us out on Sunday!

We'd play the format again (as long we get more paint from our sponsors :D ) so Thanks to scutty for putting it on!
