Okey dokey, we have our first spate of drive by paintballings up in the North East..... latest target a ten year old girl. Place your bets for how long it takes for a local MP to call for "a ban on these dangerous weapons"..... Also, what are the bets that the marker in question is a cheap, plastic £40 job?
So I ask again, what are they for? Back yard paintball is almost impossible to do legally in the UK, so how come so many get sold, I'm just wondering not judging, what section of the paintball market is a plastic pump on C02 powerlets aimed at? (in the UK) I don't see any of the major UK paintball retailers selling them, so is it just toy-shops and "army surplus" places?

Is any kind of licence required to sell paintball 'markers'?

What about control of paint? Or marbles...

A friend of mine is a recballer in the Wakefield area, also he run's a karate class in the local community centre of a council estate. The kid's love it, as they get to do a hobby of their's once a week at a lower price than they would be charged in Wakefield town centre. He was teaching about two weeks ago to around 35 students aged between 4 and 13 when someone started to fire a marker through the windows of the hut. Now, when I say through, I mean that the windows were closed and it went THROUGH the window. Nobody was hurt and when the police turned up the only thing they asked was "How do you know it was a paintball marker?" "Cos I play paintball" was his reply, along with pointing out the paint on the walls. Now he had all the kids hit the floor and cover their faces in case of any hits, but where did they get the markers and more critically, where did they get the bloody paint?
Is this going to be the end of the sport that we love cos some little toerags (and I really want to use stronger language there) finds it funny to shoot through a window at kids?
Not only that but a lot of the students have now stopped going because their scared to death in case anyone shoots at them.
What a bag of puke!!!!!!Makes me sick.

Lanark.
I recently found a shop in Glasgow who advertised they sold paintball equipment. So me being the shiny things whore that I am I decided to pop in for a look. It turned out they were a store that sold a little of everything. Stereo equipment, car radio`s etc. All they had was, as jose said, cheap plastic markers and paint. So I thought o well i`ll just have a wee look about then. When I was in the shop a complete ned walked in. The woman sold him the equipment and never asked were he was going to use it and whether he new how to use it. he walked out the shop with the marker and 500 paint under his arm. I thought this was bad enough but then a bunch of school kids then walked in and asked about the markers. She again was very willing to sell and didn`t ask or seem concerned that they were only about 13-14. surely there needs to be some control.

Chunk :(

Er

Maybe they wanted to play Paintball with em? Plenty of school kids on this site...

And as for: "The woman sold him the equipment and never asked were he was going to use it and whether he new how to use it."

Er, what about all the internet sites? Think they ask?

SICK ****ERS.

Paintball markers can be bought second hand from loot/ebay really easily.
This is where i got mine from.

There are people who own them purely to shoot neighbours dogs/windows when they get pissed of with them, or when they are just being twats - kids have them to shoot stuff in there back yard for a laugh and ****ers just get them to do drive bys on innocent children.

Would it be completly impossible to only sell paintball markers to people who own a licencse?, but then i suppose it would be classed as a firearm wouldnt it?
