Go Ball Deep!!!
Like many others have said..

Press & Hold - Turns it on (should be an intermitant blink)
This is Semi Auto with Eyes On.
(It wont fire without a ball in the breach)
Press it once - (It will do 2 quick blinks evers second or so)
This is still semi auto but eyes are now off.
(Handy for dry firing marker..)
Press & Hold - like turning it on, if you do this at any time
when it is on, it will turn off again.

The only way to put it on Ramping is to open the grip frame..
Theres a small button on the main board that you need to press to cycle through the options like BPS up, BPS down, Dwell Up, Dwell down, Fire mode up, Fire mode down. (if its a UK board it will only have 2 fire modes, Semi auto & Rebound (Ramping)
The Ion is capped at 10BPS on the ramping for some reason, it will go below that, but not above..
The programming is displayed by 2 coloured LED's on the board
(Do not attempt to reprogram it without the manual in front of you..) the on/off button cycles through the settings with whatever mode your in, when you got the settings where you want them, pull the trigger to save settings and return to normal.

Back to your problem..
change the battery, try turning the reg down and seeing if it fires, make sure its in Eyes Off mode (turn it on, press on/off button once so it blinks twice..)
NOTE:- if it still isnt firing, make sure you count how many turns back you turned it and be carefull not to turn it too far above what it was before you tinkered with it, it gets a little dodgy at around 170+ PSI.

you sure its capped at 10BPS? Seems doubtful as it advertised to fire at 17BPS. Turning the recharge down should up your BPS, shouldn't it?
My Y-Boarded egg couldnt keep up with my Ion at the weekend. Maybe a "Bad Egg"

K to answer a few of the questions floating about.

Firstly - to the guy who started the thread have you tried changing the battery? most problems with ions are caused to batteries.

If you have changed the battery and still wont fire is there air getting into your marker, check the dial at the top of your inline reg - ideally u want it to be reading sumwhere between 140 - 160psi.

If thats ok n its not leaking in the gun nywhere take it apart n give it a good clean, relube all the orings with shocker lube, clean your eyes and re-assemble.

Now gas it up and turn the gun on, when turned (this is eyes on) on you should get a intermitant flashing green light (red if us board) - if you put ure finger in the breech it should start flashin more rapidly - if it does your eyes are working.

Now press the on/off button again and turn the eyes off, once done try rattling a few shots off, in it doesnt work the only thing i can think without looking at the gun is your trigger is setup wrong and not activating the microswitch.

To check this wind the little trigger stop grub screw - the one that goes through the trigger and his the frame out as far as it will go - also wind out the trigger screw that adjusts the pre travel movement - this is the one that you can only get to by takin of your grip - wind this all the way out so u have the largest trigger swing possbile both with pre and post travel.

If everything else work ok when u now pull the trigger is should activate the microswitch and fire your gun - if it does now just readjust your trigger to your liking.

If that still doesnt fix it u live round brum dnt you? bring it to warped in wolverhampton on 01902 455 455.

Right now with the ramping cap - it will be capped at whatever your rate of fire is set at on the internal adjustment menu - all you achieve my turnin rampin on is it will ramp to whatever the maximum rate of fire is set at. To adjust the rate of fire cycle through the internal modes till you get to rate of fire up and press the on/off button - each flash on the board is a 1/4 of a bps in which ever direction you are going.

And finally the Ions are with out doubt the most bang for buck you can get on the market - for £250.50 you can get yourself brand new a Ion with qlock and checkit - all you then need is a barrel kit which you often get no matter what marker you buy wether it is a £1000 g7 or a £185 Ion. I know which i would rather have - Ions rock - at the end of the day your marker is just a tool like a golfers golf clubs - its there to get the job done and i am yet to see a marker that does the job as well as an ion. It does everything you need and i swear that alot of the hate towards the ions is generated my people p*ssed of by the fact this £185 marker does the job just aswell if not better sumtimes then there £700+ markers.

Purely my opinions and mine only

You are right, i am wrong..

Only "3 shot burst", and "Full Auto" modes on the US Board are capped at 10 BPS, the Rebound mode is up to 17 BPS. (limited by your hopper..)

i stand humbly corrected.. ;) :D

ionhalo.. Its always better to have too much help, rather than too little..

shouldn't you be concerned that your firing bolt got stuck forward?

I've got an ion as well and the bolt sticks forward when you de-gas it, it just depends on your regulator and how much gas is in the gun with the bottle detatched, the bolt sitting forward is what causes your overly-fast LED blinking. After you fire the last shot from your ion and the gauge reads 0 psi, use a fluffy stick to push the bolt back, problem solved:)
