Manike: I find it strange when people will pay £1000 for a gun and over £100 for a hopper but not £10 for decent ball detents to get it to work
IF there is a problem.
BF: Hang on, you were saying before the Speed was desinged to work with the Halo so it shouldn't need new detents should it?
You see that's the whole problem, you could mess about till the cows come home and get the Halo/Speed/IR3 working eventually, but I don't think it is worth that much effort when you can get a EVO II that is plenty quick enough and comes without the headaches.
Manike: Benfrain you tried two different Halo's didn't you. You may have tried them on many guns, but it could have been you got unlucky with the two halo's you tried.
BF: Yep. could have been unlucky but they seemed to be working fine, just didn't work well on the Angels/Impulse I used them on.
Manike: Your point was NOT about zero hassles. You were pointing out a rule of thumb which seemed to say something very different and advising people not to get a Halo if they have an open bolt gun, which to be honest is BS. Halo will work fine on most guns now, but you
may have to make some adjustments or buy a few other accessories to get the most from the combo.
BF: No, that wasn't the point I made, I was not as specific as that, I was merely indicating the general concern/problems that stem from Halo's tends to be when used with open bolt markers such as timmy's and Angels, and that is true. Nobody moans about them on cockers do they?
Manike: One other point, do you play with the Sensi turned on with your speed? If you do then of course you won't outshoot the evo 2... try turning Sensi off and see what happens.
BF: Tried both, never out shot an Evo II (y-board) in a game - perhaps I'm just **** slow though!
I'm sure standing at the range I could perhaps manage it, but that shares no real relevance with an in game situation, for me anyway. I still think it's plenty fast enough.
Again, let me state I'm not knocking the Halo, it's the best made hopper out there, the Evo II is brittle as hell and the lid hinge design is a joke. However, it is still the safest bet to use with a Speed, WDP even recommend that as the best hopper to use with the Speed so surely that has to count for something?
