Softer shelled paint will bounce, you need thin or brittle shells and bright fills for sup air, remember your targets will be wearing pretty bright colours. Orange fill is the safest to go with, as its generally a "protected" colour at most tournements, meaning no-one's supposed to wear that colour or have any kit that colour - its reserved for paint.
If you find your paint's bouncing on impact try chilling it a little. I don't mean freeze the stuff or you might as well shoot marbles. When Paint's cold it becomes more brittle, and more likely to break in impact. I've always found Tomahawk pretty good, almost all grades, and it probably the most round paint i've shot, so it flies straight and won't be likely to break in your barrel. Hope some of my rambling helps :)

Recon is a good paint - bright fill, but dark shell. Moderately hard shelled but breaks about 70% on impact with a player. As Nix says we used it in varying conditions without a problem.

I personally think the dark shell thing is bo11ox but what the hey - your best guess as to where you're shooting lays in the splat.

i've shot a pot of recon, and tbh i wasn't keen on it, wasn't as accurate as tomahawk ive been shooting for a long time, i don't have the best of eyesight but i couldn't see if, was well camoflauged in the woods, only time i saw it was when it burst on a tree and i could see the fill spray.. got the thumbs down from me!
