I'll tell you when i know
Dude, i've been using the gym for the last two years, over the last 6 months i have been a ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) & Creatine serum and Progain from Maximuscle.com. For me i do a lot of cardio and weight, no i'm not a body builder but it has helped. The ATP helps me go for longer and the progain is a protein and vitaim powered drink. Protein help repair your muscle.

"The original "No Load, No Maintenance" formula was the first one introduced as a safer alternative to powdered creatine and other performance enhancing supplements. It became an immediate hit among athletes who realized that the serum made it easier for them to exercise harder and longer. And that it helped them to get a step ahead of athletes who were using powdered or other forms of creatine. The serum offers creatine monohydrate in stabilized liquid form. With a two year shelf-life, it will not break down to waste product creatinine. It also metabolizes faster, safer and more efficiently than powdered creatines." www.agestop.net/Agestop/product_detail.aspx?PID=19

MAy help, but the fitness trainers do know what they are talking about (at my gym anyway) but may not know what type of fitness is needed for paintball, so try to explain in some detail, e.g. running for short periods, hold a marker up for a few minutes etc...

O and another thing work on your inner core as it will help in your balance.

plyometrics is light weight training. but its like squats and bunny hopping around. it builds your legs muscles and they get used to explosive reactions. as your gym instructor and im sure he will point you in the right direction either that or hit it up on the web. its the best for explosive reactions.

hope this helps mate.

Sorry mate but you are wrong 99% of Personal trainers know very little. I have spoken to some whose ideas on training are actually laughable. And encase some of you are not aware you can become qualified personal trainer in 2 days with no previous experience. Good coaches with good qualifications are VERY hard to find!!!
i'm fully aware that it takes only 2-days...so make sure you avoid those trainers like the plague as they will know very little :p

but at the gym i work at, the trainers are well qualified and know what they're talking about...i've got many little tips and things off them to improve certain aspects of fitness...and they could quite easily produce a decent programme, specific to paintball, that would work. Although their lack of understanding of paintball may actually make things slightly harder for them, as they won't know what muscles exactly to work...

I don't know what peoples fasination with these forms of "sports nutrition" are all about, because for the most part they do very little and any effect you notice is normally psychological. Protein supplementation in particular will do nothing good for you and in some cases can lead to very bad things. The most common one being kidney failure. I am not joking!!!

I am highly qualified in sports, exercise and nutrition and feel that you should heed my warnings about this stuff. Even pro athletes don't take protein supplements, so why would anyone else need to. There are cases when other supplements can be useful such Creatine but only in certain forms and doses, oh and trust me that ATP+Creatine serum stuff is BS(it can have serious side effects that I could not discuss publically)!!!

If you would like some further info about it then just ask but as it stands you are not only wasting your money but potentially endangering your health.

impamiizgraaI am fully aware that some are good but until you have met someone who is REALLY good then you will think that some of the people around you are very good. But having said that your gym could be lucky and have a good selection of good ones, stranger things have happened.

lol, we are a lucky gym...with some good instructors...they may not be VERY good...but they still know what they're talking bout....one of them has a masters with honours in sports science...so he kinda knows his stuff :p

as for the protien suppliements...i'm un-decided as to whether or not it works...i've seen guys go on the stuff over the summer, and come back built like a brick-****house...however, that could just be the old "if you believe it works, it will work" type scenario...

Unless you know how to take it correctly (and ALOT of the time how they suggest on the packaging is wrong) then the effect you felt was psychological and very common. When taken correctly it can have an effect but most people don't know how. Trust me I have done a dissertation on Creatine supplementation
