its a shame old school VENTS PREDATORS GOGGLES are not around anymore way ahead of thier time with a neoprene skull cap and throat protector so it least it gave you some protection ;)

but what was said about them when the first came on the tourney scene BAN THEM THEY AID BOUNCERS NOT PROTECTION which they sometimes did if you were lucky.

so now we have goggles with straps thats not enouff we need goggle systems that offer some kind of skull/throat protection and companies like jt/dye/vforce should make it happen as US PLAYERS will pay £$1100 on the latest marker but scrimp on something as important as protection

DO IT NOW OR SOON OR WHEN SOMEBODY IS MAIMED OR EVEN KILLED THE PRESS WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY AND YOU CAN KISS GOODBYE TO YOUR REVENUE STREAMS AS THEY HAVE JUST DRIED UP AND DIED WITH THAT SPORT THAT WAS CALLED ......PAINTBALL:(

a thought ?

just a quick thought for you all, under the firearms act it states that anyfirearm irespective of its classification, if modified in anyway other than to the manufacturers specification instantly becomes a class 1 firearm, which requires a licence ! (technically this would be everyone, even those who cut down feed necks on hoppers) but it also states that any firearm that has been adapted or intended to cause or is likely to cause injury becomes a class 1 . the only probs is fitting this to use of paintball markers. we cap muzzle velocity to under 300, i wonder what velocity dictates a class 1 or even a class 5 firearm? I will find out but it is great ammo for those tourney folk who dont want these gats at their events !
But markers aren't covered under the act at all. If they were, ramping would be illegal, as would any marker capable of firing more than one shot per pull, which would include any marker capable of trigger bounce (it wouldn't need to bounce, it would just be 'capable of firing more than one shot without significant modification' (if you can do it with alen keys, it's not 'significant')... so really, if we step into this minefield, pretty much every modern marker is gone anyway.

please dont make me scan in the legislation it will take ages ! but to re itterate.

sighhhhhhh

sec 57 of the firearms act 1968 states that
"any lethal barreled weapon of any description from which any shot, bullet, or other missile can be discharged"

(sec 1 (3) (b) Air weapons)
"any air rifle, airgun, or pistol including a rifle, pistol or gun powered by compressed carbon dioxide (or air)

pb markers are classed as air guns !

i have arrested people in the past for pointing pb markers in the street out of car windows etc at the public, under sec 16(a)

"possession with intent to casue fear of violence"

"it is an offence for a person to have in his possession any firearm OR imitation firearm with intent By means thereof to cause, OR to eneble another person by means thereof to cause any person to believe that unlawful violence will be used against him or another person"

hmmm anyone else feel that pb markers have slipped through the net ??? they are right problem is that lots of the numptys are getting lifted with them............its a matter of time before restrictions galore are put in place.

to answer my other own post the limit on muzzle velocity is 12ft/lbs anything above becomes section 1 firearm ! i cant be bothered to rant on about bore sizes and barrell lengths, but they do come into play although unless u get a pb marker with a barrel bore greater than 2" i wouldnt worry.

hope this clarifies for you guys n gals.
