ROFLwha!??!
I don't believe in the Christian deity. I don't believe in any Deities, as I perceive them as humanities answer for parental figures. And Im opposed to organised religion on the grounds that no one should tell you what to think or believe in, so long as you respect others right to their belief's and don't try to harass or oppress them because of their belief's as seems to be the case with most of the major religions at the moment.
Religions are living things though. They change over time. They progress and are replaced by other religions. The stories of one religion are commonly passed over from one religion to another religion in an attempt to make it easier to convert people. Do you think that one current major religion was the only religion to have a central character born of a virgin, and who died and was resurrected 3 days later ?? Nope some 10+ major religions all have the same story, most of them pre-dating the aforementioned current major religion.
Who knows what will happen in the future with the worlds religions. It depends on many factors. Christianity wouldn't be where it is today if it weren't for the Church converting the rich and powerful before the poor. Islam was small and inconsequential when Muhammed was preaching peace and love only, and only became big when Muhammed picked up a sword. Judaism hasn't converted people, it spreads through births determined by the mothers bloodline. Persuasion, aggression, natural progression, all different ways of expanding/growing a religion.
In a thousand years todays major religions may all exist and still be as influential and problematic as they are today.....then again we could all be bowing down before statues of Colin the purple and yellow spotted frog
