get a router, check ur local tesco! (yeh ok i know what ur all thining) but there doing wireless routers atm about £30 and itll be plug an play. Or check ebay for a cheap router can pick wired modem/routers up for around £15 on there if u look hard enough.

Other thing u can do is make ur naughty xp version appear legal instuctions for this can be found on most p2p sharing programs.

OR finally (i say finally cos this one will mean the 40 odd quid u spent on xbox live a waste of money) continue using ur cross over via pc and download a small program called xbconnect (its a free version of xbox live, cpet less people use it so less people 2 pwn but it does allow copied games and chipped xbox's to connect to it.

Naughty versions of XP are common as muck, and have absolutely no effect on using x-box live. All they will do is stop you from:

A: Activating Windows online
B: Upgrading to SP2
C: Recieving support

To access your IP address do the following:

Start>Settings>Control Panel

Double click Network Connections.

Right click the connection for you Network card and click properties.

Scroll down and double click "Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)"

Click "Use the following IP address"
And in the IP address field enter 192.168.0.1 The subnet mask will automatically fill in. Leave the rest empty.

Once you've done that, do the first steps I mentioned. Your X-Box should automatically pick up an IP address from your PC, if not make sure the settings are the same as the PC but the Xbox is 192.168.0.2

For the default gateway and DNS servers enter 192.168.0.1

That should work a dream

wouldnt he also need to set his PC to allow the share internet connections feature? or is that default settings? i can never remember.

so i ordered a router, hopefully that will bring an end to this madness...

Also just to point out naughty versions of xp dont actually mean that u cant.

But i have xp on naughty version and i managed to activates it, install sp1 and 2 from windows website.
and activate it on windows online.

haha, so u did, i was just so eager to say something on the matter i kinda didnt read alot of the thread
