Holy Schnikees - I worry enough at MM events when someone next to me spins the valve right up on the HPAC rigs, what Sam is describing would be enough to give me the willies. I'm suprised there isnt more warning about this sort of thing - you only have to see how slowly divers fill their tanks to know flash filling isn't a good thing.Originally posted by sjt19
The Air in Toulouse was operated on a new system. basically you connected the hose as normal then pushed a little button to start the fill. When you had finished the filling, you let go of the button and then took off the hose. The problem was that the system did not fill itself slowly, the pressure was right up there behind the button and when you pressed the button the bottle was filled as fast as ever. My Air system blew up in the middle of a game, and the elbow from my angel air hit the marshal on the tape. He was about thirty feet away from me! Sack the AIR fillers ASAP!
Anyway, I digress from the more important matter - lets hope this Iain chap makes a swift recovery and is back home in blighty soon
