It is easier playing front if you are smaller..........it's easier to hide if you are smaller, you take up less space and you're a smaller target.
2 players, same skill same kit, one really tall, one short who's easiest to hit?
Just like it's easier playing back if you're taller.......... better view of the field.
As for the original poster......... what if the best bunker on the field is a low cross on the tape at the 50? you going to make that? if so, could you even stay behind it?
Most players can play any position and can train to get better.... but you can't help your height. I love playing front, if I was smaller I'd find it easier (hard to fit both shoulders behind say a witches hat or dorrito sometimes).
If you can honestly say that the size of the target makes no difference to their chance of surviving a game then I really think you should switch positions...........say to a golf course
And I'm not saying you can't have a good tall frontman, you can......but a taller player has to put more effort into keeping tight than a smaller one.
Switch the scenario.... playing back from a standup coke can, 50 is a lay down........ 6ft player can play cross field........ what about a 5'6" player? if height makes no difference then surely he can still hit his mirror? (but he can't actually see him?).
