You got a point Budd

In fact, you've always got a point. :p

The first Vans I ever got were Lampins (old style) and the sides fell off in one nights skate, so I guess they were shiznit. The newer ones are better though dude, like you say a bit of a nudge from the competition helped em out a bit. Why am I goin' on about this anyway? Skatings cool but 'ball is the best thing I've ever done in my life bro'. Diggers? I think Planet still do 'em, not sure but I reckon if you ask Ledz ever so nicely, maybe get him a chilli pie or something, he'll order some for you.

Buddha.....the best skate shoes I ever had were Duffs. Rad. :D

Can't figure out what to wear...

It seems most everybody here plays in cleats...but...umm....I've just refrained from using my baseball cleats because they are so uncomfortable compared to my gym shoes. The main field that I play at has a "defend the castle" scenario, and the castle floors are all wood. Walking on wood while wearing cleats is not pleasent. Is there another type of comfortable footwear I could wear that would suffice? Otherwise I'll just bring out my cleats and use those...

Astro Turf??

Maybe some shallow cleats or astro turf type trainers may help, to be honest the only shoes you'll grip to wood are the ones gardeners use, you know the ones with nails sticking out the soles for airing the lawn.:D

If you want cleats, and the ability to not slip all over the place when walking on planks, try to find some shoes that have rubber cleats without screws in them. No hard plastic cleats either!
I got a pair of Adidas Yankee footy shoes with just those properties, and they grip like mad in natural soil (grass, mud, flesh...), and are reasonable on hard surfaces. You'll never get excellent grip with cleats of any type on hard surfaces though....

i wear hi-tek magnums steel toecaps at all times,.

hi-tek never really madeitinthe trainer world,.. but these boots feel like a pair of trainers with the added bonus of good ankle support,.. plusyou aint gonna stub your toe on tree stumps/roots and rocks,... they do them without steel aswell,.. apparently US police and military use them too,.. atleast that's what this label claims,.. can anyone verify that?
