Vans

U should check out the new Avalanche Series boots. Designed specifically for paintball by Vans, of all people, based on advice and tests by team Avalanche, whoever they are. I think Warped Sportz have got something about it on their website - www.warpedsportz.com

they look a bit like hi-tech walking boots, but we had some to check out for PGI recently. Review in the next issue (153)

I don't think I'll replace my Adidas within a short amount of time.....
They're perfect! Waterproof, ankle support, the works.
I'm a bit hesitant towards the Vans, to be honest. I used to work for the people that import them here, so I used to wear them a lot, and they're not the best made brand of shoes in the world. I think they wear out too quick. Ofcourse, I don't know about the PB shoes they make now, but I'm still a bit reserved.....

good quetion.....

I play in military combat boots. I might seem kind of strang, but they work very well. The boots go 10 inches up my ankle, so I have lots of ankle support. Plus they have pretty good trackion. Hope this helps. :)

Gooood topic

We all used to swear by extremes but over time as you learn to find yourself as a player you kinda find things change a lil'. Extremes were the business 'coz they were chunky, supportive and had good grip with the cleats; unfortunately they rub a little and you soon learn how heavy they really are. Not good for those 50 yard dashes dudes. I've started to wear some Nike Ronaldo astro turf shoes. They're light, comfy and although not quite as grippy as some cleats out there they are pretty darn cool. They only cost about £20 from a cheap ass sports store too. Woo hooo.

I really fancied the Avalanche Vans 'coz being a skater I know how good Vans shoes are, BUT does anybody else think they look a lil' bit on the clumsy side? I was expecting a smaller shoe to be honest. :(

Bunch of weirdoes...heehee.....

Seriously though, Al, dude, c'mon......Vans good?
I know that they are considered the shiznit amongst the skater crowd, but having worked for a company that imported skating goods, and which also is the distributor for Vans over here, I gotta say they ain't all that. Matter of fact, they're crap really.....
The original styles didn't give any support whatsoever, and it wasn't until some other companies (such as airwalk) started making better shoes that Vans got their thumbs out of their collective asses, and hopped on the bandwagon.
I agree with you that the 'lanche shoes look a bit goofy and flippin' huge. I expected other colors too (given 'lanche's tendency to go for yellow...). They look like big, stomping hiking boots, with a bit of cleat. I don't think they'll be better than 'proper' sporting shoes like Nike, Adidas and LA Gear (Haha, yeah right)

Well, that's how I feel anyway.....

Planet (used to) do the Diggers. Can't tell you if they're any good mate (the Diggers, not Planet. Planet's Ace....)
Personally I always prefer to go for a company that specialisez in the items you're after. So if it's shoe's you want, check out people like Nike or whatever. If it's markers you want, don't check out Nike.....:D
If you're after some American Footy type shoes, and you can't find any, see if there's a team around your area, and give them a bell. They should be able to tell you where they get there stuff from. Alternatively, let me know (and no, I get no commission :D )
