I'm with Sam on the cleats, Dye cleats are the muts, really comfy to. Also big knee pads you wouldn't normally be seen dead in. I went through a pair of Rase skid knees and my knee last time.

I used Raven pads at Heavens Gate and found them to be excellent on astroturf.

am gonna go with my digger xtream cleats and wear my trace pads (nice shin cover too)....but under my pants, id rather keep the pads in good cond, ive had them ages and i dont think you can get em anymore

I have raven knee/shin guards, and they rock. Super thick, really comfy gel pad around the kneecap. A bit warm in the hot sun, but I don't think we'll get the likes of 100+ degrees again this year...

No, its not the same surface as Heaven's gate was. Its the old style astro unloess they have relaid it since last year. Its the same surface as the M25 astro has been. Small granules of sand on the astro surface.MAybe the wearing of knee pads outside of trousers would be a sensible idea.......or vaseline your knees!
