Astroturf tends to have a thin layer of sand over it, not sure if completely flat bottomed shoes are too slippy... never tried. It also feels like u can't slide when u first kneel down on it, but get a bit of speed, and u can't stop!
Depends how much grip you have on them if any, i have some trainers which have very little grip on due to wear and tear and i silde all over the place with those, Also the same would be with indoor tennis shoes
Astro turf is a bitch. The sand holds water for weeks so you slide constantly and you need astro turf boots really(best for all surfaces) cos with normal trainers you will be on your ass before you get to your bunker
