Personally, I would highly recomend the ions.

I shot a stock ion (internally) for the whole of last season with zero problems. Kick ass guns.

As with ANY marker though, your only asking for it when you buy ANY gun if you don't learn the basics of maintaining whatever you have. And as guns go, ions are not difficult to mainain once you read the manual.
