Starter gun wise I would recommend: an Ion, an E1 Cocker, or an Angel. All fast, relatively straightforwards simple guns that can be picked up very reasonably second hand.

Air - definately. Co2 will damage your gun, particularly at high rates of fire.

first thing wat sort of ball u wanna play rec or tourny dude.
For ur first gun if rec ball i would get an ion, Tippman A5 or 98c all easy to use and no nonsence.

If tourny then ur looking more towards bling fast and reliable. so again an Ion with a few ups, ego or angel but can be a bit pricey new and if you go for a new angel to start get a speed 06 or 05. Plus check the second hand market for markers like cockers older angels egos etc.
The second hand market at the moment is really good or the buyer so would look there if i was u.

o and get air CO2 sucks more than a dutch porn star air is a lot better.

hope this helps dude

dude best thing to do is start off with something simple dont go spending £1000+ on a brand new angel, (i would get a ego myself but still), when the first game you could break it, (not saying u will but). Look at it this way buy a cheap gun when you get better upgrade it or buy a better gun.

The best starting gun has to be the Ion, they are , just wow basically, i mean you can get one for £170 *new* and be done you got your self one gun or you could spend another few £100+ on upgrades for it.

Now if u get an ion, which everyone says to get, remember a Q-LOCK is needed. oh and buy a 5000psi bottle, i got a 3000psi used it like 4times and now i want a 5000psi (Thats AIR dude, C02 is a no go, unless u got a shyt marker which costs like £2 from the market)

oh and click here (smart parts webby)

another word of advice,

for your first gun, (whitch will be a learning experience) buy second hand, as if you go out and spend silly amounts of money on a brand new top end tourney gun, chances are you will be too scared to strip it in case you damage it, it would seem a lot of new players who fork out lots of cash but have little experience stripping seem unwilling to take the plunge and learn about their guns. and you could inadvertantly damage it in the long run by not stripping it.

at least when you buy an Ion, angel, ect second hand, newcomers to the sport arnt so woried about stripping guns..
and hence they learn much quicker..

Promaster mate, much better build quality than ions (so i've heard) and they are supposedly ALOT faster, and they look alot easier to strip and clean, which is a good thing. Plus they dont go all sticky and runny near fires.

faster!!!! no point in looking how quick it shoots cus at the end of the day we can only shoot 15bps in tourny's and most walkons anyway. Stick to reliabilaty and quality and more important wat u can afford and feel comfortable with dude.
Cus speed meens nothing if u cant hit a fat mans arss from 10ft away.
