Fill nipple

ok well my fill nipple is leaking, is there any procedure that i need to go throught to change it? befor you say make sure all the air it out its the new max-flow micro and the reg is already of the bottle so thats ok.

If its leaking dose that mean i will need a new one or is it fixable?

As its the fill nipple and take alot of pressure throught it i guess i will need to use my stronger locktite 638 over the weaker 243?

ptfe tape should do the trick.

would it be safe? i mean there will be 4500psi going throught this thing?

also do you no if i can just un screw it and screw another one in? and is it posible to fix this one?

The nipple has a piston inside with a small oring around it, Just degass bottle and unscrew nipple from bottle. Once off push piston out and you will see the oring, swap it and you will be good. I use PTFE tape on the nipple threads and I have had no problems.

Where is it leaking from, the center of the fill nipple or the edge of the thread.

the center of the fill nipple, i think i will just have to replace it as i dont think i have a oring that size

It depends if the leak is coming from inside the nipple or around it.

If its coming from inside then it will be a little bit of dirt that has unseated the o ring that can be reseated or changed easily.

Ptfe will be fine to seal it if its coming from around it the nipple, just be sure to be careful when threading it back on that you dont cross thread! Loctite is fine, dontuse the tough stuff coz you may need to replace the nipple in the future and it will be a nightmare if you go for the hard core loctite. The threads are what holds it in and the ptfe/loctite is there to prevent movement and seal the threads.

Can you put the o-ring on a rule, and take a photo for me, i will probably have the o-ring you need.

It's probably an 006, measure the outside diameter. Is it white or black.

ok well for quickness its in between 6/7 millimeter, and the hole in the middle is just over 3 millimeter, and its a very hard one.

If that means nothing i will try and get a photo for you but cant seem to find my camera and one on mobile wont pick it up in this light
