F Stamp, ...

Hi Guys,
just got hold of a working computer with internet connection now, sorry not to write back sooner.
Concerning the gun law in Germany a marker has to have a "F" mark on it to show that it is not a firearm. The "F" means that this "gun" is not a real one and available for everyone over 18 years of age free of permission. Teams from abroad should get into contact with the maxs stores in there countries if there is none, there will be a phonehotline for this particular issue starting end of next week. There you will get the help and solutions to attend this tournament without any problems.

As far as I can see if you travel to Germany without an F stamp you run the risk of having your marker confiscated and or destroyed.

This will apply to flying or driving or even sending it by freight/courier.
If it gets stopped and checked whether you are with it or not the law will still stand.

It's not really surprising that someone from Max's has not told anyone about this, Head and sand spring to mind.

We were stopped at Frankfurt Hahn had our markers checked last year(no F Stamp). Luckily the two Cops were ok and could see they were not firearms and let us board. It could quite easily have gone the other way (as it did with Malera).

If you do travel to Max's from the UK it may be less risky to send the markers and bottles by road, still a risk but less of one than flying with Ryan air.

What ever Max's or the Millennium say if you aint got the magic F you run the risk.

Just my 20p's worth as we haven't heard from any one else!

The past 2 years......

.......we've driven & the only place you get stopped (if at all) is Dover-Calais. Both years we've been stopped & had someone have a brief look at our markers but obviously, with us being on French or English soil, everything was hunky dory.

But like Chuck said, it's all about the magic "F". If you have it, it's plain sailing all the way. Without it, as we have been for the past 2 years, you run the risk.

If it ends up easy enough to get an "F" stamp then I'll be doing that before we go!

No " F " stamp and flying

I have flown into Germany a guite a few times, with and without the " F - as is Freed from the gun laws " Stamp. Getting into the country is no problem, as long as you are not dumb enough to declare the marker in your luggage that goes into the hold as a firearm, which always gets checked at arrival. Real Dumb - but I know of two teams which did this!!!

Flying out is the problem. Since 9/11, all hold luggage goes through an x-ray machine, and that is where the security guys get worried. Not because of the marker, but the air bottle, which looks like a bomb!!
The last 3 flights, I have always been called to the sec office, and have had to show them the bottle, and that is was open (no reg). the gun was always packed (wrapped) well away from the bottle, and have had no problems. My tip about the "F" stamp, when you are at the site, just go visit one of the german trade stands, they will most probably help you out. Whilst you in Germany, always travel with the gun dissembled.

So u there!!:D

Last year I had my air bottle in my hand luggage.
The only thing I needed to do was to show the security how it works and what it was and that it was empty. I even had the regulator on the air bottle.

And for the guns, we just told them what we had in the luggage and then we needed to wait for a man from the Airport Police so he could check out the guns. He didn`t do much, except telling us that paintball is cool ;)
