Yeah Loco, like we're going to let YOU choose the topic...

Perhaps events in the off season have tarnished him a little, so much so that he is an equal opportunity anarchist no longer....

Say it ain't so!
Just a suggestion to get the ball rolling. Though I'm not seeing an alternative here ... ?

Missy, you are the Henny Youngman of P8ntballer. Of course it isn't so. I was the first one--on these forums--to point out the wider implication of the UPBF though in fairness since it isn't much of anything yet it's hard to slam them for what they've not done. And regarding the MS that's kind'a like beatin' up on the retarded kid, isn't it? And the PSP is undergoing wholesale changes which may or may not work out but you can't even second-guess them until we see some results. Meanwhile the NPPL looks about the same except they've made a decision to be the best tourney series in Cali this year. I'm even prepared to hammer some Pro teams and players--at least in generalities if you want to go there. I'm ready willing and able to have a go on any reasonable subject so quit stalling. :p

PS--I gotta say I'm a little disappointed in Robo siding with Missy considering how I've started the bandwagon rolling to hook him up with pop icon status just like Chuck Norris.

Not sure what you mean about being the best series in Cali?

Lets have a look at this through fact tinted spectacles for a moment.
Year one - W,W,C, E, E.
Year Two - W, E, C, W, W
Year Three - W, E, C, W, E

Total so far - 7 x West Coast, 5 x east coast, 3 x Central (counting Chicago as Central)

Last I heard, this year was going to be W, E, C, E, W.

So with all this in mind, and those spectacles firmly in place, whats your point?

And another thing, if you have a kid, who acts retarded but in truth is not. Does that make the kid more open to ridicule, or less so? Should he be in some way protected and closeted the same as a kid who genuinely is a retard? Should a retarded kid be allowed to become a Paintball League? So many questions!

And what about this WPL? You've been a little quiet on that one. Are you playing that 'league'? Is that the reason they have escaped your ridicule? Are there teams that have actually paid the $20,000 or have ALL the teams foregone any prize/appearance money in order to receive a free spot? Perhaps that house of cards should be a subject of debate?

and on the UPBF stuff, the fact that there has been a 'whole lot of nuthin' done or said since the 'big announcement' would, back in your 'hay-day', have been enough to kick-start you into action, albeit in a rather left-wing way....

These invaders (or would 'intruders' be a better word?) have a lot to answer for. If you're drooling out the side of your mouth in HB, or walking like John Wayne, I will have the proof I need to go to the authorities. Just hang in there till then!

1--wow, now whose lost their sense of humor? :) I was going by this link: http://www.nppl.tv/mailouts/2006_schedule/2006_schedule.htl All the rest is ancient history. :p

2--it's Euroland, who cares?

3--I have commented on the WPL elsewhere--probably while you were on hiatus. I know a few teams have paid their full franchise fees but I am also aware there are more than a few who haven't as well. Otherwise, yes, we have a team but for the most part I haven't given it much thought and I'm not involved with our efforts in the WPL at all. I suppose I look at it as kind of a sideshow at the moment. Being on TV good. Being, so far, only mediocre TV, not as good but if in fact they are getting the sort of rating they claim and the quality continues to improve (as it has over the first few weeks) then it could be very good for Paintball. Will it replace or overshadow the "real" Pro leagues? I don't think so. I see it more like the downloading phenomenon--great exposure for the unknown little guy.

4--we have met the enemy and they are us.

As I recall the first year for the "new" NPPL wasn't all strawberries and cream aside from HB either and that didn't turn out too bad. ;)

Are these your topic suggestions?

LOL - a bit better, but still not your old self

1. I thought those spectacles would put you off. Nothing like some stats to shut down an avenue of offence.

2. Erm, the majority of the posters here. Granted I may not include myself in the 'cares column', but there are a ****-load on here who would.
Loco, There's really no sense being a 'rabble rouser' if the rabble won't gather at the gates, perhaps because they have been belittled for being 'Euro's'...;)

3. The Loco I know and love would never gloss over the fact that some teams in the WPL have paid $20,000 to be there and others got in on a free ticket to make up the numbers needed to make the league work. Can I assume from your indifference that your team is one of the latter? If the NPPL was to offer free entry to some of the Pro teams and not yours would this spur you into action? I think so. Not that I have a particular axe to grind against the WPL, I think all exposure is good exposure, but how do the teams that paid 20g feel? Is thier cause not worth championing?

4. Quite so, if by 'us' you mean 'them'

As for topics for debate, I am as open as ever to whatever you suggest, although I do feel I would have a better chance if I was able to battle unshackled. You know only too well that if you want to debate the NPPL I would be fighting with 2 hands tied behind my back (presumably why you would prefer to choose this ground), which shouldn't be too much to worry about if I have Pete at my back...

....and based on your new sig, aren't you doomed to fail in any debate against a team including Pete? Surely if Pete 'say's so' thats the end of it?

- a corner backed into, you are.

You yanks crack me up! Maybe you should create a 4th huge army, just in case the commies come back, or you need to 'shock and awe' some back-pack toting arab students...

I think he was reffering to the possibility that if the 3rd event is in SF rather than Boston they'll have 3 events in Cali, let alone calling it west coast. If it was Seattle, that might be different...

I see, but I think Boston will happen. I could be wrong, but the intention is to have an event in the North East, so long as a deal with the gods can be struck so that it doesn't rain all 4 days...

1--I gave the current state of the art official NPPL tentative schedule webpage link and 3 of the 5 events are projected to likely be in Cali. S'all.

2--be that as it may the MS hasn't turned the World of Paintball in quite awhile--tho it could creep up on stage again soon. When it does it'll likely get my attention. ;)

3--that would be good and I would rage against that particular machine in a heartbeat but it isn't quite correct. The WPL expects everyone to pony up their full and complete franchise fee and have been making efforts to collect, or so I've heard. The problem seems to be they let some teams slide by on down payments and now that they are on TV with defined conferences, etc. it's tough to undue and/or force compliance. The easiest course for the WPL would be to withhold event (appearance) payments and winnings from any team still in arrears. But that would mean they would have to be prepared to have some teams fail and drop out. In the meantime they've taken on a greater risk and exposed their full franchises to greater risk. If I were a franchise holder in good standing I might be perusing my contract to see what leverage I could bring to bear to further protect my investment or cover my risk.
And, of course, like the MS the WPL isn't quite ready for prime time yet.

4--why can't we all just get along?

5--I'd be more sympathetic excepting you've tied your own hands behind your back and then claimed unfair disadvantage. :p

My sig: Well, then what are you afraid of?

Armies: Been reading the Guardian again? In all forces under arms the US is no higher than second (to China) and could be as low as fourth. In combat troops the US is anywhere from 6 to around 10. In total combat strength the US is far and away first.

PS--faking statistics is almost as bad for your credibility as paraphrasing "quotes." :)

Was it the US Army that put a half dozen bullets in that arab-looking guy's head at the tube station for wearing a raincoat? And undercover US commandos who gunned down a handful of unarmed peeps in Gibralter some time ago? If you're gonna trot out that smug and superior attitude you might want to make sure you can back it up. :p Or else leave it to the professionals.
