As for what you suggest, I suppose I would have to agree but I think it is a lot worse when you move into the pro bracket.
There is no way the Euros are cleaner than clean but what always sticks in my mind was the Pittsburgh Nations XBall Cup where by far the most penalised team were the Americans but I sometimes wonder if XBall penalties are more likely to be picked up by the more aggressive teams.
If a team just sits back and gun fights and shoots lanes from behind their bunkers, they are more likely to feel any hits but if you are running like a lunatic to bunker some fool or make some fifty bunker then the adrenaline is coursing thru your veins by the bucket load, is it any wonder that some hits are not gonna be noticed in time?
This implies that the more aggressive teams will be penalised more which in part, does run contra to the aspirations of XBall, that of promoting aggressive and exciting play.
This may go in some way to explaining why the Americans got penalised more but what can never be excused was their propensity to 'bonus ball', a feature of the game that I never saw any other country indulge themselves in Pittsburgh.
