The announcement does not necessarily preclude an X Ball world championship. We'll get it sorted early next week since all the principals are at the Philly tournament.

It is now mid week, any news ???????????????????

:)
And nine weeks before the event in question...

Obviously PSP and NXL can't schedule an event without team commitments from our side.

So far, in spite of many queries, we only have Team Russia and Team USA who say they definitely plan to attend the World Cup. Denmark want to but aren't able to say yet if they will get the sponsorship needed to attend. Magued Idris, captain of Team Sweden, who are tied with Russia for the number 1 position, informed me yesterday evening that they will not participate in the World X Ball Championship.

I am still waiting to get in touch with NXL to discuss this with them.

Perhaps there will only be two games at the World Championship, Russia and USA vs number 1 and number 2 of NXL. Maybe Sunday afternoon, don't know yet. Maybe it's off if we can't get four definite teams committed soon enough.

Will report as soon as I know something more.

Andy,

Just for your information NO TEAM has been forced to buy any shirts and so far no teams have paid for any.

Mmmm funny, I remember having a huge cnversation with someone in Portugal who was forced to come up with some money by Germany for the shirts!
Now if that has changed all well and good and I apoplogise if it has, if not, then my point still stands!

Andy,

Interesting, one of the first things I did when I came on board was to lift the requirements for any team to buy shirts they don't want. I also asked (via e-mails to all the teams on the list given to me by Magued) that anyone who took team jerseys at the Lisbon tournament to return any unwanted jerseys at their next Mill tournament.

According to the information given to me, no team has yet paid anything for jerseys. (But the one's received will definitely have to be paid for.)

If your motivation for your posts about this (and other issues concerning Nations Cup) is looking out for the interest of players because of EPA, then I admire you.

Or maybe it is out of your general interest in what's good for paintball. Fine. I've had my say here also about things I like or don't like about some organizations or events, so I can't blame you for that.

But if you want to join one or two other people here who want to hack at me personally, the job I'm TRYING to do, the Nations Cup series or Millennium, then I submit to you that things are not always what they seem and there may be more things than you imagine behind any rumors you may hear. If you want to discuss these matters privately, feel free to contact me. I'll explain whatever I can.

We'll see how things develop concerning the World Cup and the jerseys. I certainly have devoted and will continue to devote a lot of effort to making sure things get sorted.

1) That is by far the most important thing to me. Because without the players there is no Paintball Scene!

2) I earn a living from the sports as well as play so how the sports goes is also one of my concerns!

3) Could not give a rats arse about slagging off the Millennium or the Nations Cup.... It's all about the players! Alwa has been always will be and sometimes I think people lose sight of that.
