Euro Indoor - Playing on!

i was on the field marshalling, and the 1-4-1 was not used. The team involved were given penalty points for playing on. As we have marshalled the event for four years we are very capable of implementing the 1-4-1 rule, but felt it was uneccasary in this particular incident.

Both captains at the end of the game were satisfied with the decision and no compliants were made, other than the usual uninformed onlookers who saw it fit to abuse the marshalls as they had no idea of the administered penalty points. (cheers for that!)

It would be nice for people to actually do the reseach before posting on the forums; the 1-4-1 rule was in the rules for the indoor, and as ian pointed out Delta and many of the inferno marshalls have completed the PA training course. I dont think many people really appreciate how hard the indoor is to marshall, and in my personal experience it is the most thankless job around. But on the other hand, thank you to all the teams and event organisers that did show their respect of the marshalling over the very long two days.

I was surprised to see that there was no thread about the indoor and thanking the people involved actually, it goes without saying that we are grateful for the marshalls, who in my opinion were very good throughout the two days
I personally had no problems with the marshalling, so I guess I'll show my gratitude now Thanks!

And I'm sure the 1-4-1 rule was used (to our detriment ) so it must have existed!

i would just like to say that i was at the indoor for both days and with all the problems they had on the 2nd day the marshalls did a great job and well done to k2 for winning div a well done guys

a big well done to storm lightning for winning div b i was speaking to some of the storm lot there were a few of them there and this team was the nov team. had one player who flew from norway i think well some place abroad and 2 players who had not played a tourney in 11 years again i think, trying to remember so sorry if i am wrong and they only lost 2 games on sunday so well done to them i cant wait till next years one i will be playing (if they do it next year)

you might want to get your facts right befor accusing teams of deliberatly cheating.

i know which game you are talking about and i'm pretty sure i am the player involved.

from my point of view this is what happened.
i broke out to the center (field two) and i go round on the player on the other side, who also is coming round at me. he walks off with a hit on his head. I HAVE AT THIS POINT TAKEN NO HITS IN ANY SELF CHECK AREA AND THERE IS A MARSHAL WATCHING ME FROM TWO FOOT AWAY. i then shot at a player on their tape taking him out. i am then hit in the BACK of my hopper by my own player!! i know this because it was ORANGE paint and storm were shooting GREEN. i then ran to the side and walked off the field and would like to point out that until i walked i had recieved NO body hits and seeing almost all of the spectators where storm players/supporters/pot bitches its not hard to work out why they were booing. also there consistant shout of pooooon could have added to that.

as i was cleaning off my gun i seen two green hits on the FRONT of my hooper this is not a self chck area and the marshal who was within two foot the whole time wasnt doing his job. i then left the area with the rest of the team leaving the captain to sign the sheet. storm did not complain about this until after i had left so i had no way to defend myself.

i would like to say that i have nothing against storm we played them twice over the weekend and they are a good bunch of lads.

so marshal try findin out FACTS before going around like an idiot and slagging people off on the forums

Surely this targeted slagging off is not appropriate use of public forums and if you have an issue with a team you should take it up with the team in question personally in PRIVATE.
Every team plays on from time to time wether knowingly or not. So unless you can stand up and say no-one on your team has ever played on then perhaps you should keep these sort of comments to yourself.
Shock 3 are a good bunch of guys and do not deserve the public slating you are giving them.

Well said, we've no problem with Shock 3. They play hard and fast ball (just they way we like it ), so big up to them.

The only problem I had with the Euro indoor was the constant muzak at full blast.. I know I'm a bit of an old c*nt, but it was so loud, you couldnt hear each other speak without shouting into someones earhole..

Other than that, there were no major gripes. I was happy with the marshalling, and think they did a fantastic job.

yeah the music was getting on my tits and i was not playing . as for shockwave 3 playing on i was videoing that game and at least 2 of shockwave 3 players played on and i got it on tape but it's all in the past and as cranky_fart said they got no problem with it. but i think teams will have to re-think things with t.v coming into the sport and the amount of pepole with videos at tourneys there is no place to hide if you play well everyone see's it and if you cheat everyone see's it food for thought

i would just like to say shockwave 3 are a good bunch and we should of won it. it was 1 on 1 i was last in got hit it did not break i should of called for a check but just took myself out they won fair and square well done guys hope to play you again soon

no-one is slating Shockwave 3. They are not seen in any teams eyes as a team that plays on. Our Nov team always has a tough time playing them, and thats props to Shock3! No probs what so ever. As the shock player said, he didn't know if he was playing on cause it wasn't a self check area, he got shot by the guy in his bunker (on the front of gun or hopper) and just didn't see it. He didn't obviously feel it, and so just didn't know, and shot our guy back. It happens! I feel that we all discussing the same point. And no-one is even bothered, unless the facts aren't straight.

So anyway....next game eh?
