Planet Piper away from you freaks!
Guys and Girls

Just thought we would let you know that as of Friday the EPA Forum will be gone. The reason for this is as follows:

In another thread Niall states that we forced ourselves on the players. This was never our intention to do this. We just wanted to try and have a voice for the players and if we forced ourselves on you then we are sorry for this.

We may continue with the EPA and do some smaller events etc, but for the Millennium side of things we are done (for now anyway). Rest assured that all the comments we collected have been forwarded to the Millennium Series (by Goose at Campaign) and if there is enough support from both the players and the MS we will be back. So guys and girls have a good season if you have any comments about the series please forward all your comments onto the Millennium series as I am sure they will be happy to help you all.

The registration page will still be available at http://80.197.232.162/epa/ so keep signing up and get your friends too. PRO TEAMS GET OFF YOUR BUTTS!!!

Is this in other words that the EPA feels that what they were trying to accomplish MilleniumWise has been useless ??

Useless - far from it.

I personally had a great talk with Karlijn at CC and have good conversations with Niall & Laurent all the time.

However until we actually get invited to the table, it really doens't mean much. Especially when we only have a handfull of players who play Millenniums actually sign-up.

We have had many people/teams register and show their support, but when you look at the numbers they don't really have the muscle needed to "force" anything. Example: As of todays date we have 375 players registered. When you take into consideration that many of these players do not play Millenniums regularily (more than 2 tournaments a year) we are maybe down to 250 Millnnium players. Now when you consider that CC had approx. 1000 players - that means we have the support of 25% of the players.

What makes this even worse is the number of pros (THE ONEs WHO DO THE MOST BITCHING) that have signed up. Out of the 375 only 35 are from pros - The teams they are from are as follows...
Ugly Ducklings
Nexus
Mayhem Tigers
Storm
Ignition
HardCore
Rancid
WarpedSportz

Niall also alluded to the fact that we where not elected to do the job - he is absoluetely correct - we just stepped into a vacuum to try and help.

So as you can see - without the blessing of at least a majority (a HEALTHY majority) of the players OR an invitation from the MS - our hands are more or less tied when it come to dealing with them.

Excellent, at last my abilities have been recognised... no,not just by Robbo... but by an organisation that represents the whole of the European player base. A one man team of me ranks along the finest on the continent... and I'm pro.

My personal take...

1) Is the mill board saying they don't recognise the EPA cos it's self appointed or cos it hasn't got many members?

2) personally, I think the work lodas of Piper and Goose has perhaps got in the way of this org. So no offence guys, but I think to give this any kind of a chance you've got to be more proactive. I think if you'd have had a few birds at Campaign walking round getting people to sign up there and then, you'd have had more than half sign up.

3) Since when do the promoters tell the players what to do. Oops. Sorry, stupid question... since time immemorial.

4) Euro ballers are a bunch of gob****es.

5) I think Brockdorff should rise from the fkin flames.

Please can I go on the record of saying we need a players body such as the EPA.
Goose is correct in what he says, we cannot really invite the EPA to the table until it does represent the players. However it has always been on the Agenda and I still want to discuss the EPA's involement.

I used the word "forced", and this was not meant to be in any way critical of Pipes or Goose. To the contrary they saw the need, grasped the nettle and set about trying to do something and good on them for trying. Its a damn shame that players are so apathetic!

My concern was more of a constitutional nature than a criticism of the people involved. I tried to relay this to Pipes , but any federation that claims to represent a party must have the mandate of its members to act in its interest. An example of this when I used to sit on the Old EPSF board I had to get re-elected every year.

Pipes and Goose, don't give up.

Some suggestions.. Obviously both parties willing

Maybe we can tie in a membership with the M/S id cards for next year.
Combine it with a ballot paper when people sign up??
This will mean instant membership and instant elected body at the start of the season.

The P8ntballer awards are going online in the next 10 days, and we are going to run an EPA sign up alongside the votes, which will hopefully generate some response - especially as it's getting mailed out to 15,000 people.

Larger than life
Since the majority of players (my assumption) are aware of the existence of a players association, I suggest the Millennium Series deals with the organisation that has most members. No matter how many members there are. If a rival organisation with more Millennium team members appears, they represent the players. But as long as there is an organisation in place, talk to them. The principle is the same as in presidential elections, where only the candidate that got the most votes wins. No matter how many people there were who actually bothered to vote.

I agree with Nick,
(again, i'm sorry)

I've been thinking about it after our converstion Andy, and i really feel that you guys are giving up without a fight here.
What kind of support do you need?

What if the Millennium board decides that they need you to counter balance the promoters? If your function were to be made official by the Millennium Board would it make things different?

The more i think about it, the more i think you guys are throwing something really important away.

I guess if you guys don't want to do it then that's a good enough reason, i'm not slamming you guys personally. I'm not sure that i'd want the job that you guys set out to do,
a lot of unpaid work, people bitching all the time, nobody listening, and a lot of people saying they support you without any real action to follow up...

I don't know i'm confused i guess.
