Apologies Gups....

Marcus - However you are WRONG about inferior paint. We use the same brands and grades as you'll find at any walk on event. We don't use tourney grade (ie fragile) paint as it would blend in a site gun and shoot lumpy custard, but every batch we accept is tested by me and has to pass a 5 point test for quality. We regularly decline poor quality cheap paint in favour of a more expensive alternative if the cheaper paint doesn't pass the test. Site paint is not necessarily poor quality!
Gups.... sorry my point was made at generic DF when in fact it is referenced to my experience of paint at one DF site. My bad and I apologise, Sorry Gups... However, I will stand by the fact that the paint I used was a reasonable brand, but it was dimpled... egg'd..... inconsistently sized... and hard as marbles, which is what? Down to poor storage? I've heard stories of some sites (not just DF) buying cheap, end of batch or rejected paint which will demonstrate these characteristics straight out of a fresh box. This is a clear indication of profit over quality.

At least as an own-gunner you have the choice of using site paint, or to buy your own from reputable stores who will sell you reasonably priced tourney grade paint.

May I pose a question? Why can't Delta Force open up for walk-ons at the sort of rates we are used to, e.g. £45 including air and 2000 paint? This would demonstrate a leaning away from strict commercialism, which DF is known for. Maybe your site does Gups, but most don't and won't.

I say again, support paintball sites that support paintball, and to add, support paintballers....

If you have an electro you are welcome to use it at DF provided you are sure it will run on one of our co2 cylinders without harming your marker - this is YOUR call not ours although if you turn up with an ego or an angel etc we will tell you to wise up ;)
lol I don't think many people would turn up at DF with an ego or angel and if they did they would probably be newbies with rich parents

Support your local paintball site!

Howdy. I work at DF Cardiff. We get maybe one or two customers come through a month with their own kit, and quite often get them returning again and again. (Most recent being four guys from Brecon who turn up every so often and bring along a large man called "Bear") We have no problems with it.

As far as paint goes, we're currently using Draxxus in Cardiff, although recently we had a batch of Sterling paint that was sweet as pie.

My two pence.

Marcus, one thing to add... and just a bit of guesswork.. if the paint you used which was hard as marbles and dimpled was either at a centre north of Birmingham and more than 6 weeks ago or in a plain white box, theres a good chance it wasn't tested for how hard (bouncy/painful) it was. The person who was doing the testing for one supplier was only checking for it being too fragile, not too bouncy. He no longer works for us. All of our suppliers (Powerball NPS Phoenix and Manic) have had batches rejected by me for being too damn rubbery- although this only accounts for a small proportion of their paint and on the whole we are very happy with all of our suppliers :)

Meyou - glad you like the paint you're getting :)
