electronic markers at delta force

andyrik

Extreme ioner
the place i work your sposedly allowed air, although thats a go ballistic. so different rules.
Just get your tank filled up before you go. (if they allow air)
Im sure the ions are 10X more accurate than what theyve got there, so jus be a sniper or something...
punters are so crap at hiding behind baracades, its not hard to miss tbh... dont mad, your just wasting money at one of those sites with paintballs.

Poundzzzzzzzz and penniezzzzzzzzz

Why go to a Delta force site where you pay £5 or £6 a 100 equalling £100 or £120 a box of 2000 for inferior quality paint, when you can go to walk-ons and pay anywhere between £25 to £35 for the same quantity but usually better quality paint.

Whether you have the money to spend or not is not the point, why spend it if you don't have to

Instead of one day at a Delta Force site firing 2000 paint, why not buy an ion for the same money.... then the next time you could have gone buy a 0.8l ally bottle and hopper and mask instead.... and voila your as near as dammit ready for a walk-on.....

Punter days at reputable sites keep sites alive for walk-ons... my 2p's worth is don't support commericial entities who are in it just for the money.. support paintball sites that support paintball!!!

Hmm..... my rant over....

if he is anthing like i was when i first started out then his mates wont want to buy all ther own gear so if he wants to play ball with friends then paying punter prices is pretty much what he is stuck with.

People complain about the price a normal punter has to pay on some sites. But if it weren't for the likes of these customers you would not have sites to play on. Walk on players make a site next to nothing, so they need to rely on Insurance etc to be paid for by normal customers. So I agree with Marcus here !

My 2pence..............

I'm not into recommending sites etc... for the most part it tends to be self serving.

BUT.

Last tourney I played was organised not a million miles from Shadlad..... cheap for a tourney, cheap paint, enough marshalls and basically a superb day for all players(novice or otherwise... even first timers had a great day), exactly what paintball needs.

My advice? Like they say, look up a few local sites and ask about walk ons. Let you mates keep playing casualy. But look around, I bet you'll be surprised.
You might find someone like Shadlad and his lot (or my lot if you are really unlucky and in need of something to discuss in therapy).

Anyway, if you've got your own kit, then playing against the punters isn't too good anyway. Bear in mind, they aren't thinking 'wow, look at him, he's cool. and isn't he a good paintballer', they are thinking 'look at that twat, I don't know why I'm wasting my money when they let people use those on us'.

Where are you at MrJohny??

Like the man says, shop around, also, bear in mind that most of the posters giving you advice are playing for teams that have good relationships with their parent sites or run teams from sites.
How many of them are from Delta?

If you are up North, go for the Ionman...... a first time baller could walk in, rent an ion and play a tourney for less than a normal days rec-ball (plus you get more games with loads of Marshalls). This is more than impartial advice.... I'm actually blowing the competition's trumpet :)

Demon: 100% correct. DF allow semi only, no modes and you must use a DF co2 bottle. Reason for this is our rental customers' safety. We know our cylinders are safe.

Marcus - also correct - beter to play at a walk-on type event organised for own gunners rather than 'punter-hunting' against newbs. DF aims their business at the rental market. However you are WRONG about inferior paint. We use the same brands and grades as you'll find at any walk on event. We don't use tourney grade (ie fragile) paint as it would blend in a site gun and shoot lumpy custard, but every batch we accept is tested by me and has to pass a 5 point test for quality. We regularly decline poor quality cheap paint in favour of a more expensive alternative if the cheaper paint doesn't pass the test. Site paint is not necessarily poor quality!

Jose - Hiya m8, long time no see, you at stargate/starwars this year? Anyhow Jose is also correct: DF don't encourage marshals to create site teams because we suddenly find on a day of 300 players our best 15 marshals at a centre are off playing a tourney and the manager is left with no /inexperienced staff. Having said that, there are many DF staff who play at local/ national and international levels.

If you have an electro you are welcome to use it at DF provided you are sure it will run on one of our co2 cylinders without harming your marker - this is YOUR call not ours although if you turn up with an ego or an angel etc we will tell you to wise up ;)

I went to DF with my son in Plymouth " thanks guppy "

we used our ions at 7 bsp and all was good, get there early and you will be fine
we used all our sup air kit and had a real good day out.

and yes walk on days are good, but we all started on "punter Days"

don't knock it

the ion was fine with the co2 but you got to have it turned right down dwell at 45 to 50.
